Tips for extended stay a world away

Spending a year in space might sound like a pitch for a new reality show, but it is a serious scientific mission that two people have just embarked on.

American astronaut Scott Kelly and Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Kornieko blasted off from Kazakhstan to begin their 12-month mission on the International Space Station (ISS).

The BBC's Laura Trevelyan spoke to former Nasa astronaut Leroy Chiao, who is very familiar with the tight quarters of the ISS. He spent six months aboard the station.
