Helping the homelessStaff at a homeless centre in Wellingborough says more needs to be done to help former soldiers who are sleeping rough on the towns streets. The Daylight Centre is based on the High Street in Wellingborough. The centre provides homeless people will a hot meal, change of clothing, bedding and shower facilities. The centre relies solely on donations and hand-outs from local businesses and residents. Workers at the Daylight Centre say they see a high number of ex-servicemen who are sleeping rough on the streets. Many of them suffer from depression, post traumatic stress disorder and other mental health issues, and have found it difficult to adjust to civilian life. One of those is Buddha. He served with the Royal Anglicans and with the UN in different countries. He's now homeless and hunts for food in bins and skips in Wellingborough. But the centre needs more help and financial support to keep going and providing people with the services they offer.
