What software do I need in order to use the BBC Player?
Before using the BBC Player for the first time, you should check that you have the necessary software installed on your computer.
Depending on what you want to listen to on the BBC Player, you need to have installed RealPlayer and/or Windows Media Player.
RealPlayer
Listen Live and Listen Again (Local Radio, Radio Cymru, and Radio nan Gaidhea)
Please note: Listen Again programmes are currently only available in Real Media format. You must install RealPlayer if you wish to Listen Again to shows from the past seven days on the BBC Player. We strongly recommend that you follow our links and download the latest version of RealPlayer which is compatible with your computer. Free versions of RealPlayer are available for PC, Mac, Linux and Unix users.

Windows Media Player
We are currently unable to offer this service for Radio Cymru, Radio Scotland, Radio Foyle, Radio nan Gaidheal, Radio Scotland, Radio Ulster, Radio Wales and local radio stations. Listen Again programmes are currently only available in Real Media format.
