The network focuses on presenting live and specially recorded music of the highest quality from the UK and beyond, including a variety of contributions from the BBC’s own performing groups. How can I listen to Radio 3?
You can listen to Radio 3 programmes in a variety of ways:
DAB, Cable, Satellite, Internet streaming, Internet Radio Player, FM Radio and Freeview.
Listening on DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting)
for this you need a DAB digital radio receiver. These can be bought from under £100 and offer benefits in quality and convenience over traditional radios. Digital radio offers text information about what you are listening to and a signal free of interference. Digital car radios do not have to be re-tuned when you're on the move.

Listening on cable and satellite
In the UK Radio 3 is available to listen to on Sky channel 0103, ntl: 903 and Telewest 903. In some other territories, Radio 3 is available on the Astra satellite and via cable. Consult local service providers who may be able to offer the network as part of their media packages.
Listening live on the Internet
Listen using your web browser to a radio programme as it goes out on air. The Radio 3 live stream is provided as one of the listening options in the Radio Player. Radio 3 streams all its broadcast output on the web. The Radio Player is like a jukebox which appears in its own window in your web browser. Use the Radio Player to listen to a selection of programmes from Radio 3 and other BBC stations when it suits you. Music programmes are available to listen to again for up to seven days after broadcast. Some speech programmes are available for longer.

Radio3 appears on Channel 73. Freeview is a new simple way to receive up to 30 free digital TV channels, plus radio and interactive services, through your aerial. There is no contract. Just a one-off payment for equipment.

BBC Radio 3 offers considerably more than traditional western classical music. Partnership with the London Jazz Festival, the Awards for World Music and broadcasts from UK festivals from Brighton to Orkney, contributed to a rich schedule of diverse musical styles. However, classical music remains at the heart of the schedule, and new partnerships with UK orchestras in Birmingham, Bournemouth and Manchester have ensured a greater range of classical music on the network.
