    Radio 3 is travelling around the UK this summer to capture the great concerts, recitals and operas from many of the UK's leading classical music festivals.

      15 May - 21 May.  Including concerts from Collegium Vocale Ghent, Musica ad Rhenum and Concordia broadcast in Performance on 3 and the Early Music Show

        The Bath International Music Festival

        21 May - 7 June.  Highlights include Radio 3 broadcasts of concerts by trumpeter Alison Balsam, the Great Voices of Bulgaria choir and pianist Yevgeny Sudbin.

          The Hay Festival

          22 May - 1 June. Including Sir Thomas Allen with a programme of French songs, the Gould Piano Trio and former Radio 3 New Generation Artists, the Psophos Quartet.

            Wei Li, Grand Union Orchestra credit Spitalfields Festival
            The Spitalfields Festival

            2 - 20 June. An eclectic mix of music from Spitalfields reflecting the nature of the festival - a Chinese inspired music-drama and a modern take on music hall.

              Wyastone Summer Series

              6 June - 19 July.  Vocal highlights include Katerina Karneus and Florilegium - with a programme of works written for famous castrato Farinelli.

                13 - 19 June.  String quartet and piano works from the Belcea Quartet and Imogen Cooper. Steven Isserlis and Thomas Ades's programme includes Debussy, Ravel and Janacek.

                  15 - 29 June.  Artists recorded for Radio 3's Lunchtime Concert include the Carducci Quartet, Patricia Rozario, Cedric Tiberghien and Tasmin Little

                    St Magnus Festival

                    20 - 25 June.  Ilya Gringolts' programme includes the premiere of Maxwell Davies's violin sonata. Other music comes from the Nash Ensemble, Tenebrae and organist Gillian Weir.

                      Proms 2008
                      BBC Proms 2008

                      18 July - 13 September.  The 114th year of the BBC Proms includes 76 concerts at the Royal Albert Hall plus chamber concerts and Proms in the Park. Every Prom is live on Radio 3.

                        City of London Festival

                        20 June - 10 July.  Radio 3 New Generation Artists take centre stage in a series of Lunchtime Concerts recorded for broadcast early in 2009.

                          3 - 12 July.  A series of concerts recorded for broadcast on Radio 3's Early Music Show. Highlights include the Choir of New College Oxford and works by Dufay from La Reverdie.

                            Cheltenham Festival

                            4 - 19 July.  Including Haydn and Schubert from pianist Marc-Andre Hamelin, and a folk extravaganza from the Manchester Camerata at the Town Hall.

                              4 - 6 July & 11 - 13 July.  The Gabrieli Consort, mezzo-soprano Daniela Lehner and the Pavel Haas Quartet all give concerts at this beautiful 12th Century Northumbrian Priory.

                                8 - 31 August.  'Artists without borders' is this year's theme and Radio 3's extensive coverage reflects the wide range of great music on offer with broadcasts throughout September.
