Kate Avery: World Indoors omission 'confuses' Durham athlete
Durham athlete Kate Avery tells BBC Sport that she cannot work out why British Athletics contacted her about selection for the World Indoor Athletics Championships for it then to transpire that she could not in fact be picked.
Avery is currently ranked first in Britain over 3,000m by more than four seconds with a time of eight minutes and 56.20 seconds.
The 22-year-old, who lives in New York, was contacted on 15 February, only to later be told she would not be picked because she did not ask for permission to miss the trial race in Sheffield on 8 February.
