  1. 1500:

I'm going to sign off for the day. Thank you for your contributions and join us next time for live Scottish football coverage.

  2. 1459:

BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound will be covering all of those matches.

  3. 1458:

Before then, Celtic and Motherwell are in Champions League qualifying action on Wednesday and there is also a Scottish League Cup match between Rangers and East Fife coming up on Tuesday.

  4. 1454:

Dundee United are back in action on Thursday when they take on Dinamo Moscow in Russia in the Europa League third qualifying round second leg.

Callum Patterson has tweeted using #bbcsportsound

"As a neutral, I've always thought Jonny Russell could be a brilliant player. Russell/Daly today have been a good watch."

  6. 1450:
    FULL-TIME- Dundee United 3-0 Hibernian

The final whistle blows and it's been an excellent afternoon for Dundee United as they win their opening SPL match of the season go top of the table on goal difference. Poor start from Hibs and they have a lot of work to do before next weekend's Edinburgh derby.

  7. 1448:
GOAL- Dundee United 3-0 Hibernian (Gardyne)

United claim a third in injury time and it's a debut goal for Michael Gardyne, who runs on to a headed pass through and finishes well past Ben Williams. Poor defending from Hibs.

  8. 1447:

    Final minute of the match.

  9. 1445:

Buoyed by his goal in midweek, Willo Flood twists and turns on the edge of the box before firing in a shot that deflects wide. He's had a pretty solid game today.

  10. 1441:

It's still Dundee United on top but their passing let's them down on the break as Willo Flood overhits a pass with players streaming forward.

  11. 1438:

Tim Clancy blasts a shot over from the edge of the United box. It's been that kind of day for the visitors.

  12. 1437:

Another change for the hosts as Gary Mackay-Steven leaves the field to a standing ovation and Stuart Armstrong comes on.

  13. 1435:

Leigh Griffiths tries to catch out goalkeeper Radoslaw Cierzniak with a curling free-kick from the right-hand side but the effort creeps over the United bar.

    Danny Judge has text 80295

"Another derby humiliation awaits if we play like this against Hearts. Pat Fenlon has built this team and has nowhere to hide if it doesn't deliver."

  15. 1434:

Dundee United make a substitution with first-half scorer Johnny Russell making way for debutant Michael Gardyne.

Steven Thompson on BBC Radio Scotland

"That's the end of it for me now."

  17. 1431:
GOAL- Dundee United 2-0 Hibernian (Daly)

Jon Daly opens his account for the season with a diving header to divert Gary Mackay-Steven's shot/cross into the net.

Ian Murray on BBC Radio Scotland

"Hibs haven't done much. They look a bit lost for ideas."

Steven Thompson on BBC Radio Scotland

"It's just gone a wee bit scrappy, the game's a bit flat."

  20. 1428:

Jorge Claros is about to come on for Hibs.

    Lee has text 80295

"Different season same old gutless Hibees. Getting bullied and less desire than their opponents."

  22. 1421:

For all United's possession in this second period, their passing has been less crisp and less accurate. Hibs are yet to really get a foothold but they are only one down and just need that one chance.

    Anonymous text to 80295

"Boy! Am I glad Bohemians didn't budge when United tried to pinch him! Peter Houston has done an incredible job and with young players like Russell and GMS, United will either be right up there this season or financially safe if forced to sell!"

  24. 1419:
Ian Murray on BBC Radio Scotland

"Hibs will definitely at least one great opportunity to equalise. The longer the game goes, the more it benefits Hibs at the moment."

  25. 1417:

Leigh Griffiths picks up the game's first yellow card for a cynical trip on Gary Mackay-Steven as the winger was accelerating away.

  26. 1417:

Former Hibs player Ian Murray describes substitute Handling as "an instinct finisher".

  27. 1416:

Hibs make a change with Daniel Handling coming on for Lewis Stevenson.

  28. 1414:

Hibs' attacking problems were encapsulated moments ago when David Wotherspoon's corner was cleared by the nearest defender and the visitors worked the ball back to halfway before losing it.

  29. 1410:

Brian McLean, making his United debut as a substitute, launches a high cross into the area and Hibs cannot get the ball clear as the ball meanders across the box to Jon Daly but the captain's attempted chip barely gets off the ground and goalkeeper Ben Williams gathers.

Rob in Port Seaton has text 80295: "Fenlon - definition of madness is repeatedly trying something that repeatedly fails."

Remembers, to get involved text 80295 or tweet using #bbcsportsound.

  32. 1408:

Another superb run by Gary Mackay-Steven as he tricks the Hibs defence with a couple of step-overs and stabs the ball through to Johnny Russell but the first-half scorer drags his shot wide with the goal at his mercy.

  33. 1407:

United have carried on in this second half where they left off at the end of the first with plenty of possession in attacking areas. Hibs struggling to get upfield.

  34. 1403:

Dundee United have made a change at half-time with Brian McLean on for Sean Dillon.

  35. 1402:

    The second half is underway.

    Tweets using hashtag #bbcsportsound

Gary Cumming: "Great to see United pick up from where we left off against Dinamo Moscow, but I think we need another goal for comfort"

Ian Smith: "Just seen on the #bbcsportsound text feed that someone thinks GMS is worth £5million. It brought back memories of Jerren Nixon"

  37. 1347:
    HALF-TIME- Dundee United 1-0 Hibernian

The first half is over with United preserving their lead until the break.

  38. 1343:

Gary Mackay-Steven plays a one-two with Johnny Russell and gets ready to sweep the ball toward goal but he is crowded out in the box.

  39. 1342:

The pace of game has dropped a little as half-time approaches.

  40. 1336:

Superb save from Ben Williams as he touches Jon Daly's glancing header wide. The big striker looked certain to score but Williams stretched out a finger-tip to prevent another United goal.

  41. 1333:

Tha match is past the half-hour mark now and Ivan Sproule has a break for Hibs. His first touch is poor and takes him wide rather than central and his eventual cross is wayward. It's been a frustrating start for Hibs.

    Tweets using hashtag #bbcsportsound

Isaac Hibee Callan: "Same old rubbish, had some hope before three minutes in. Stephens is not exactly impressing me, move Hanlon in and put Booth on"

Gurjeet: "Gary Mackay-Steven is without a doubt the best player I have ever seen wearing the tangerine jersey"

Tom Watson: "All I ask of Hibs this season is that they don't make it to a cup final."

  43. 1327:

Johnny Russell runs on to Keith Watson's throw-in and the United man sweeps a volley wide. The action quickly moves to the other end and Eoin Doyle's low drive suffers a similar fate.

  44. 1325:

Couple of set pieces for Hibs but Dundee United deal with them comfortably. The visitors are at least starting to get a few more men forward though.

  45. 1321:

More United pressure and Paul Hanlon makes two crucial clearances as crosses are shelled into the Hibs penalty area.

  46. 1318:

Gary Mackay-Steven turns and fires a shot against the base of the Hibs post but referee Craig Thomson calls play back for an infringement.

Lauren Headley has tweeted using #bbcsportsound: "Has anything changed? Disappointing start for all Hibs fans who were promised we wouldn't face this again. Cmon Hibs!"

  48. 1317:

Gary Mackay-Steven pulls off his first trick of the day with a delightful turn in the centre circle before a run and shot off target. He really is a talent.

  49. 1315:

But, hold on a minute, Hibs force United back and Leigh Griffiths twists and turns in the box before his deflected shot loops into Radoslaw Cierzniak's hands.

  50. 1312:

Ten minutes in and this match has been United's so far. Hibs need to re-organise or they risk having this one lost before half-time.

Steven Thompson on BBC Radio Scotland

"There's a big difference in body language out there. Dundee United are playing like a team with confidence. The Hibs players don't want the ball."

  52. 1310:

The Jon Daly-Johnny Russell combination continues to cause Hibs problems as the former flicks on for the latter to batter in a volley and Ben Williams palms the shot out for a corner.

  53. 1308:

Hibs have their first effort at goal with Eoin Doyle trying his luck from 25 yards out but it is well clear of the crossbar.

Steven Thompson on BBC Radio Scotland

"Dundee United look very threatening at the moment."

  55. 1307:

'The Cat' will be interested in Craig Thomson's performance today, saying: "When did Hibs last win with him in the middle? Had a poor cup final. #bbcsportsound"

  56. 1305:
GOAL- Dundee United 1-0 Hibernian (Russell)

Dundee United are in front and it's Johnny Russell with the goal. A cross into the Hibs box is cleared and then headed back into the area by Jon Daly and Russell turns superbly as he arrows a low shot into the net.

Ian Murray on BBC Radio Scotland

"I think it probably was a penalty to be honest, it's a big call from the referee."

  58. 1304:

There's drama within the first couple of minutes as Johnny Russell goes to ground in the box after intercepting David Williams' poor headed passback and coming into collision with goalkeeper Ben Williams. However, referee Craig Thompson waves play on.

  59. 1303:

Jordan Wood in Dundee has text 80295: "Gary Mackay-Steven will be the difference today. £5 million player."

  60. 1302:

    Tha match kicks off.

  61. 1301:

You can listen to BBC Radio Scotland's match commentary of Dundee United v Hibernian on 810MW, on digital radio or online using the link on the right-hand side of this page. Commentator John Barnes is joined by former United man Steven Thompson and ex-Hibs player Ian Murray.

  62. 1259:

The players make their way onto the pitch and the match is almost underway.

  63. 1257:

Of course, Fenlon will not be in the dugout today as he serves a touchline ban so first-team coach Liam O'Brien will be the one issuing instructions to the Hibs players this afternoon.

  64. 1255:

Of the three debutants in the Hibs side, Tim Clancy is the only one with previous SPL experience having served Kilmarnock and Motherwell in recent seasons. The defender could turn out to be a big player for manager Pat Fenlon this season with so many youngsters in the side.

  65. 1252:

The Tannadice pitch looks in excellent condition. The weather forecast is cloudy with possible showers in Dundee this afternoon. No matter how it turns out, let's hope it's a good match.

  66. 1247:

It looks as though Leigh Griffiths and Eoin Doyle will be Hibs' main attacking threat today, with Ivan Sproule operating in wide areas.

  67. 1246:

    Today's referee is Craig Thomson.

  68. 1245:

Dundee Utd: Cierzniak, Watson, Dillon, Gunning, Douglas, Flood, Ryan, Rankin, Mackay-Steven, Daly, Russell. Subs: Banks, McLean, Millar, Gardyne, Armstrong, Dow, Robertson.

Hibernian: Williams, Clancy, McPake, Stephens, Hanlon, Cairney, Stevenson, Doyle, Wotherspoon, Sproule, Griffiths. Subs: Antell, Booth, O'Hanlon, Claros, Kujabi, Handling, Caldwell.

  69. 1244:

Rob in Port Seton has texted 80295: "If every team takes Celtic that close (as Aberdeen did yesterday) then this league is open."

  70. 1243:

Quick recap on yesterday's results: Celtic beat Aberdeen by a single goal, St Mirren and Inverness battled out a 2-2 draw, Kilmarnock v Dundee and Ross County v Inverness both ended goalless and Hearts triumphed 2-0 at home against St Johnstone.

  71. 1241:

Ben Williams, Tim Clancy and Paul Cairney all make their debuts for Hibernian.

  72. 1240:

Dundee United name an unchanged line-up for today's match with Jon Daly leading the line up front, supported by Johnny Russell and Gary Mackay-Steven.

  75. 1236:

Gary Deegan joined Hibs on a one-year deal yesterday but he is not eligible for today's match.

  76. 1235:

Hibs play their first competitive match since last season's Scottish Cup final defeat.

  77. 1234:

Both clubs begin their domestic campaigns today but United have already been in action this week, drawing 2-2 with visitors Dinamo Moscow in Thursday's Europa League qualifying third round first leg.

  78. 1232:

Today, Dundee United host Hibernian in the final Scottish Premier League match of the weekend.
