David McGoldrick scored twice as Ipswich recorded their first Championship win in four matches with victory over Middlesbrough.
Boro took the lead courtesy of Albert Adomah's scissor-kick from Grant Leadbitter's headed ball.
Striker McGoldrick scored Town's equaliser when he fired in from 25 yards, before Luke Chambers made it 2-1 with a header into the far corner.
McGoldrick's second came in injury time when he fired low into the corner.
Victory was Ipswich's 800th at home in League football, but perhaps more significantly for this season, it saw them move away from the teams near the bottom.
This is the first time in seven years that Boro have registered only one win from the first six outings of a league season.
They had made a good start when Adomah produced a brilliant strike which gave goalkeeper Dean Gerken no chance.
Ipswich hit back when McGoldrick turned Dean Whitehead and fired in an unstoppable shot.
Steele did well to keep out Ryan Tunnicliffe's fierce drive but had little chance of stopping the home side's second when Chambers nodded in from Aaron Cresswell's deep cross.
Luke Hyam should have made it three, but miscued his shot from 12 yards out. But team-mate McGoldrick made no mistake moments later when he burst clear of Jonathan Woodgate and rolled the ball beyond Steele.
Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy:
"I thought McGoldrick was outstanding and he has been all season.
"He has not been getting the goals, but the keepers have been making unbelievable saves.
"He puts in a real shift and he is a proper player. We are lucky to have him."
Boro boss Tony Mowbray:
"They deserved the victory for the honest and hard work they put in.
"For 20 minutes, we played some pretty decent football and got ourselves deservedly in front.
"But Ipswich are a team who do the basics well. They close you down, put their foot through the ball in defence and ask questions of you, and we fell a bit short defensively."
