Steve Gibson: Aitor Karanka a change for Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson tells BBC Tees that the time was right to appoint the club's first-ever non-British boss in Aitor Karanka.
The 40-year-old former Spain defender, who worked under Jose Mourinho for three years at Real Madrid, has been named as Boro's new head coach on a contract until 2016.
He replaces Tony Mowbray, who left in October after a run of one win in 10 Championship matches.
