As it happened

  1. 1945:

Thanks for joining me today. We have seen some derby drama, Arsenal remaining top of the table and Crystal Palace winning a game!

If you need another fix, head across to our European football lads who are doing a live text on Almeria v Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, I'll be back tomorrow to talk you through Manchester City v Tottenham and Cardiff v Manchester United.

  2. 1944:
MANAGER REACTION- West Ham 0-3 Chelsea
    Frank Lampard

More from Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho: "Samuel Eto'o is playing well. Of course, he is not a 26-year-old boy any more with incredible speed but his quality on the ball is fantastic.

"He gives us great experience among kids like Oscar and Eden Hazard.

"Me and Frank [Lampard] know each other very well. He knows every decision I make is good.

"He knows when I decide to give him a rest. He has nothing to prove and a lot to give."

  3. 1942:
MANAGER REACTION- West Ham 0-3 Chelsea
    Jose Mourinho

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho: "Our second half against Tottenham was also brilliant, but today was a 90-minute performance. They looked very solid from the first minute.

"The points are important, and the way we played. We are right in there, we are not leaders, but we are right behind.

"For me, everybody did a fantastic job for me. The team was really good."

  4. 1934:

You might have missed it earlier but the game of the day wasn't Everton 3-3 Liverpool.

In League Two, Fleetwood scored a 96th-minute winner to win 5-4 against Mansfield, who had equalised in the 89th minute.

    GET INVOLVED- #bbcfootball

Fahad Khan: Stark contrast between the derbies today. Merseyside being the feisty one, whereas the London one being... A stroll in the park.

  6. 1932:
    Premier League table

West Ham are only outside the relegation zone on goal difference after that defeat. It could be a long season for Sam Allardyce and his team.

  7. 1930:
    Premier League table

Chelsea move above Southampton into third in the Premier League table. They are only behind Liverpool on goals scored now and trail Arsenal by four points.

  8. 1929:

So what does that result do at both ends of the table?

  9. 1928:
    Sam Allardyce

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is the third favourite to be the next Premier League manager to go. Martin Jol and Chris Hughton are one and two.

Tom from Kent: Just like the good old days under Mourinho.

  11. 1926:

Over in Europe, Bayern Munich have hammered rivals Borussia Dortmund 3-0, with Arjen Robben and Thomas Muller scoring in the last five minutes.

In Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo has made it 35 goals in 25 games this season as Real Madrid lead Almeria 1-0.

We have a live text of both those games on the BBC Sport website.

  12. 1924:
Tottenham academy coach Bradley Allen at Upton ParkWest Ham 0-3 Chelsea

"It was so straightforward for Chelsea. They have sent a message to the other title challengers.

"The patience will run out with Sam Allardyce. Although his strikers are not good enough, he has to look to be more bold in the home fixtures."

  13. 1922:
    West Ham 0-3 Chelsea

West Ham, who are booed off, had their first and only shot on target in the last second there. Joey O'Brien's effort was saved by Petr Cech.

A miserable evening for the Hammers.

  14. 1921:
Tottenham academy coach Bradley Allen at Upton ParkWest Ham 0-3 Chelsea

"Demba Ba was level there, it was a harsh decision from the official."

Listen to commentary of West Ham v Chelsea on BBC London 94.9 now.

  15. 1921:
MOTD's Jonathan Pearce at Upton ParkFULL-TIME- West Ham 0-3 Chelsea

"West Ham fans had left in their legions by the end. Chelsea were dominant right from the start. It was a superb away performance and on the evidence of this West Ham have a long winter ahead.

"Frank Lampard was outstanding and unquestionably man of the match and drove Chelsea on. There were question marks about him after playing for England but he came up with the answers today."

  16. 1920:
DISALLOWED GOAL- West Ham 0-3 Chelsea

Demba Ba puts the ball into the West Ham net in the final seconds but he is offside and it is ruled out.

    GET INVOLVED- #bbcfootball

Tommy French: Allardyce has to take the blame for this defeat. Starting with no strikers (again) invited a top team to attack. No plan B.

  18. 1919:
INJURY TIME- West Ham 0-3 Chelsea

Three minutes of injury time. That's 180 seconds of extra misery for West Ham.

  19. 1915:
    West Ham 0-3 Chelsea

Chelsea's two-goal man Frank Lampard has been named man of the match.

Mohamed Diame wins the home side's man of the match award. I never understand why they name a home man of the match if a team have been hammered.

I was at a game last year and the crowd laughed when a winger won the award in a miserable 2-0 defeat.

    GET INVOLVED- #bbcfootball

Anhar_Tweets: And that's the reason why England should take Lampard to Brazil!

  21. 1913:
    West Ham 0-3 Chelsea

Recent Chelsea substitutes Andre Schurrle and Michael Essien combine and the Ghanaian has an effort saved down low by Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Oscar and Eden Hazard were the men replaced.

    GET INVOLVED- #bbcfootball

Richard Burnett: Relegation looms this season for West Ham. All our eggs in one basket with the Andy Carroll signing. Gamble didn't pay off.

Andy Carroll, their £15m signing from Liverpool, is out injured and Sam Allardyce has no idea when he will return.

  23. 1911:
    West Ham 0-3 Chelsea

Chelsea's all-time top scorer Frank Lampard has scored in four of his last five Premier League matches against his former side now.

  24. 1911:
Tottenham academy coach Bradley Allen at Upton ParkWest Ham 0-3 Chelsea

"Frank Lampard arrived perfectly to the pitch of the ball. That was a trademark finish.

"The short-steps as he arrived at the ball steadied him perfectly."

Listen to commentary of West Ham v Chelsea on BBC London 94.9 now.

  25. 1909:
GOAL- West Ham 0-3 Chelsea - Frank Lampard (82 mins)

Eden Hazard has a shot blocked and the ball lands to Frank Lampard, who fires home from 18 yards out.

This scoreline is more reflective of the game.

  26. 1908:
    West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

Ten minutes to go at Upton Park. It will take something remarkable for West Ham to come back into this.

  27. 1907:
    SUBSTITUTION- West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

How West Ham wish they could bring this man on. It's former Hammers striker Demba Ba, who replaces Samuel Eto'o for Chelsea.

  28. 1904:
    SUBSTITUTION- West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce makes his final change, midfielder Kevin Nolan coming off for winger Matt Jarvis. No way back surely for the Hammers now though.

It sounded like there was unrest from the Hammers fans there at the substitution. Allardyce won't be the most popular man on the East End tonight.

  29. 1903:

In the big game in Germany, Bayern Munich have the lead. And it's former Borussia Dortmund man Mario Gotze, who quit Jurgen Klopp's side for the European champions in the summer, who has scored moments after coming on. Needless to say the home fans are not impressed.

Follow our live text on that match on the BBC Sport website.

  30. 1900:
    West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta appears to kick the ball out of play thinking the ball is flat but referee Chris Foy does not agree and West Ham keep possession from the throw-in. A bit of a bizarre one there at Upton Park.

    GET INVOLVED- #bbcfootball

Dave Cassells: If I were a West Ham fan I'd be worried. No strikers, no goals. Relegation may seem on the cards.

  32. 1853:
WHAT A MISS- West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

Guy Demel pulls off some brilliant trickery down the right to beat a few Chelsea defenders and pulls the ball across to Modibo Maiga, who misses poorly at the back post. Demel looked like Johan Cruyff at his peak there, Maiga not so much.

  33. 1851:
Tottenham academy coach Bradley Allen at Upton ParkWest Ham 0-2 Chelsea

"Samuel Eto'o is starting to look sharper. That was an effort that curled and dipped, but didn't quite do enough to trouble the goalkeeper."

Listen to commentary of West Ham v Chelsea on BBC London 94.9 now.

  34. 1851:
    West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

Samuel Eto'o just misses the target with an effort from the edge of the box.

  35. 1850:
ACROBATIC EFFORT- West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

West Ham striker Modibo Maiga has not scored since December 2012 (in a win over Chelsea) and he decides to try to end that duck with an overhead kick. Unfortunately for West Ham the Malian makes minimal impact and it's wide.

  36. 1848:
    West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

Half an hour to go at Upton Park. You get the impression I could replace one of Chelsea's defenders at the back and they'd still win.

  37. 1845:
Tottenham academy coach Bradley Allen at Upton ParkWest Ham 0-2 Chelsea

"Chelsea tore West Ham to shreds there. Chelsea had six players who made up 60 yards in a matter of seconds to get into the box, and Oscar will feel he should have done better with the finish."

Listen to commentary of West Ham v Chelsea on BBC London 94.9 now.

  38. 1845:
    West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

A fantastic counter-attack by Chelsea. The move is started by Cesar Azpilicueta, who gets up the other end to cross the ball to Oscar but the Brazilian fires wide. Wonderful play by the Blues.

  39. 1841:
Gunners midfielder Aaron RamseyArsenal 2-0 Southampton

"Good win against a well organised side today. Important result after other teams dropped points. Great to have Theo back from injury too."

  40. 1841:
OFF THE LINE- West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill heads on target from a corner but Mark Noble clears the ball off the line. Very nearly a third for the Blues, who are utterly rampant now.

  41. 1840:
    West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

Chelsea are cruising here and James Collins gets a block into keep out Samuel Eto'o shot from a tight angle.

  42. 1838:
    West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

Former Chelsea striker Carlton Cole on the bench for West Ham today. Are we going to see him at any stage, I wonder.

Shohidur Rahman: How bad were Spurs that they lost 3-0 at home to this West Ham team? Wow.

  44. 1836:
    West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

West Ham winger Stewart Downing crosses in from the left and it evades everyone, including striker Modibo Maiga and Chelsea keeper Petr Cech and goes out for a goal-kick.

  45. 1834:
Tottenham academy coach Bradley Allen at Upton ParkWest Ham 0-2 Chelsea

"What do West Ham do here? For the supporters' sake, they must show more courage and play a higher line.

"Whether they can do that remains to be seen."

Statisticians Opta: 357 - The last time West Ham came from behind to win in the Premier League was against Chelsea in December 2012, 357 days ago. Hope.

Nicolas Cage: Oscar has been brilliant this season, if he keeps up this form then player of the season is in the bag.

Nicolas Cage, Oscar - there must be a gag in this somewhere.

  49. 1826:
    West Ham 0-2 Chelsea
    Oscar celebrates

West Ham came into the game without a win in their last four home games in the league, their worst run under Sam Allardyce. It's hard to see that run not extending today.

  50. 1824:

Earlier on today, Barcelona eased to a 4-0 win over Granada and Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored as Paris St-Germain beat Reims 3-0.

  51. 1822:

The Merseyside derby was an absolute thriller earlier this afternoon. You can catch-up with the BBC Radio 5 live commentary from a frantic game full of goals on the BBC website now:

    Philippe Coutinho puts Liverpool ahead.

    Kevin Mirallas makes it 1-1.

Luis Suarez puts Liverpool 2-1 ahead.

    Romelu Lukaku equalises.

    Lukaku puts Everton ahead.

    Daniel Sturridge makes it 3-3.

  52. 1821:
Tottenham academy coach Bradley Allen at Upton ParkWest Ham 0-2 Chelsea

"West Ham have been reasonable, but there is not enough of a threat in the team. You could hear the disquiet at half-time.

"Sam Allardyce has to put a second striker on so he can be seen chasing the game a bit. West Ham need to get the crowd on their side by adding a bit of intensity to their play."

Listen to commentary of West Ham v Chelsea on BBC London 94.9 now.

  53. 1820:
    Borussia Dortmund v Bayern Munich

Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are drawing 0-0 at half-time in their top-of-the-table Bundesliga showdown.

You can follow a separate European football live text of that game, followed by Almeria v Real Madrid, on the BBC Sport website.

  54. 1817:
    West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

West Ham booed off at half-time by their fans. The Hammers are only outside the relegation zone on goal difference.

  55. 1817:
MOTD's Jonathan Pearce at Upton ParkHALF-TIME- West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

"Chelsea have been dominant and fully deserve their lead. The movement of Oscar and Eden Hazard has been too much for West Ham to deal with, and Frank Lampard has also been able to join their attacks.

"In contrast, West Ham have been powder-puff going forward. Their boss Sam Allardyce will want to get his players back in the dressing room and inspire what would be a wonderful, if unlikely, comeback."

    GET INVOLVED- #bbcfootball

Simon Poole: Like most Chelsea fans I disagreed with Mourinho freezing Mata out but when you see Hazard and Oscar combine like that...

Ben Atkinson: Sam Allardyce is starting to lose confidence in his own ability at West Ham. Not having a striker in the Premier League is asking to be beat.

Fabious: I don't think anyone wants Mata to replace Oscar. Lampard will have to play less.

  57. 1813:
    West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o curls in an effort from an angle which West Ham keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen saves.

  58. 1810:
    SUBSTITUTION- West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

West Ham make a double change, within 40 minutes. Joe Cole and Jack Collison come off. Mohamed Diame and Modibo Maiga come on. Hammers fans don't seem too happy and Cole takes his jersey off and goes straight down the tunnel.

Will Big Sam's gamble pay off?

John Whelan: Can't see West Ham getting back into this. They're awful.

  60. 1806:
Tottenham academy coach Bradley Allen at Upton ParkWest Ham 0-2 Chelsea

"Eden Hazard has been one of the players of the first half, and he slipped in Oscar beautifully.

"Within this defensive structure Jose Mourinho likes to have, he likes his players to selectively break at opportune times and that goal showed that approach. They could rack up a really big scoreline here."

Listen to commentary of West Ham v Chelsea on BBC London 94.9 now.

  61. 1805:
    West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is going to have to pull off some tactical wizardry to turn this game around...

  62. 1803:
GOAL- West Ham 0-2 Chelsea - Oscar (34 mins)

Eden Hazard flicks the ball onto Oscar, who runs forward and slots home from the edge of the box - he made that shot look so simple. Fantastic football from Chelsea's playmakers.

  63. 1803:
    West Ham 0-1 Chelsea

Chelsea full-back Branislav Ivanovic puts in a cross from the right but it's held onto by West Ham keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen. The fact that I'm telling you that lets you know there's not much going on.

  64. 1801:
    West Ham 0-1 Chelsea

This game is quite bitty at the moment, there's not much in the way of fluid play by either team.

    GET INVOLVED- #bbcfootball

Richard Harmer: Three times at least now Oscar has robbed/intercepted the ball high up the pitch. This is why he gets selected over Mata.

Tom Castle: Clear penalty, but Oscar went looking for it. Had only one goal when he went into the ball.

  66. 1758:
    West Ham 0-1 Chelsea
    Oscar fouled

Just seen the Chelsea penalty decision again. Guy Demel literally tries to pass the ball back weakly with his thigh to Jussi Jaaskelainen. Baffling decision and even worse execution.

    GET INVOLVED- #bbcfootball

Some Body: Shocking backpass! As juvenile as Boruc's dribbling! Is this the Premier League? The 'best league in the world'?

  68. 1754:
    West Ham 0-1 Chelsea

That goal, his first in 11 league games, ends Frank Lampard's longest run without a goal in the Premier League since April-August 2003.

  69. 1752:
Tottenham academy coach Bradley Allen at Upton ParkWest Ham 0-1 Chelsea

"It was a definite penalty. Sam Allardyce is furious with the poor back-pass.

"The one thing you cannot do against a top-six side is make basic mistakes. It was a dreadful decision from Guy Demel."

Listen to commentary of West Ham v Chelsea on BBC London 94.9 now.

  70. 1751:
GOAL- West Ham 0-1 Chelsea - Frank Lampard (21 mins)

Frank Lampard fires home the penalty, just right of centre as Jussi Jaaskelainen goes the wrong way. That's his first league goal since August.

  71. 1750:
PENALTY TO CHELSEA- West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

West Ham keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen takes Oscar out of it after a poor back pass by Guy Demel - definite penalty. The Finn escapes a booking - or worse.

  72. 1750:
Tottenham academy coach Bradley Allen at Upton ParkWest Ham 0-0 Chelsea

"That was the first tremendous piece of delivery from Stewart Downing. It broke to Joe Cole and he could not quite get his shot away."

Listen to commentary of West Ham v Chelsea on BBC London 94.9 now.

  73. 1750:
    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

Joe Cole has West Ham's first chance of the game against his former club. The ball lands to the former England midfielder but he is tackled before he can shoot.

  74. 1748:
    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

West Ham midfielder Kevin Nolan is possibly lucky to escape a booking. He is offside, then jumps into Chelsea keeper Petr Cech and long after the whistle has gone, lobs the ball into the net.

  75. 1746:
    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea playmaker Oscar has the best (only) chance of the game so far but his shot from just outside the area is well off target.

  76. 1744:
Tottenham academy coach Bradley Allen at Upton ParkWest Ham 0-0 Chelsea

"Chelsea look to have a bit more quality, speed and purpose on the counter-attack than West Ham."

Listen to commentary of West Ham v Chelsea on BBC London 94.9 now.

  77. 1743:
    MANAGER REACTION- Arsenal 2-0 Southampton

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "I'm very happy because we were against a good team and they showed why they made good results before.

"We couldn't take our chances but we took advantage of their mistakes. It's a very good win against a difficult team. They stopped us well from playing.

"It [Boruc error] happens. Players are quick to close down. Maybe he was a bit too confident and Olivier Giroud did very well.

When you see Southampton play today we know why they won at Liverpool and drew against Manchester United. They are a good team and if they had won today they would have been level with us at the top of the league, so that shows you how good they are."

  78. 1742:
    MANAGER REACTION- Arsenal 2-0 Southampton

Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino: "I'm clearly unhappy with the result and the way we lost as well, but this is football - these things happen.

"We competed well, though, in Arsenal's ground, the league leaders. We competed until the last minute and that's the positive. We tried our best.

"It's not really necessary to analyse what happened, we all saw it on the pitch. We want to support our keeper in spite of this mistake - these things can happen in football and we need to work hard to make sure they don't happen again."

    GET INVOLVED- #bbcfootball

Tori_Bobs: No Mata again for Chelsea. Manchester United should put in a £40m bid in January to test Chelsea's resolve.

  80. 1740:
    MANAGER REACTION- Stoke 2-0 Sunderland
    Angry Gus Poyet

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet on Wes Brown's controversial red card: "It was a key moment - a moment when we were trying to come back and take the game to Stoke.

"We were down to 10 men for no reason. I would like to know why. If someone can explain I will think about it. I am sure there is no explanation so nobody will call me."

"I don't even think it is a foul.

"Maybe Mike Riley needs to call me on Monday. I will have my phone on."

  81. 1737:
    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea have edged the opening few minutes at Upton Park but they have failed to do anything with several crosses.

  82. 1736:
    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

Statisticians Opta: 3 - Frank Lampard has scored in three of his last four Premier League appearances against former side West Ham. Haunt.

  83. 1735:
MANAGER REACTION- Hull 0-1 Crystal Palace
    Steve Bruce

Hull City boss Steve Bruce: "We're disappointed in the way we played. We just didn't create enough.

"The longer it went on you could see they were getting more confident.

"It's difficult at our level to find someone who can score the goals you need but we have to get back to finding a way to get results.

"Keith deserves huge credit for how well he's done with them."

  84. 1734:
(CARETAKER) MANAGER REACTION- Hull 0-1 Crystal Palace
    Keith Millen

Crystal Palace caretaker Keith Millen: "I'm so proud of the players today.

"There is a belief there and they are working so hard for one another.

"I'd love to stay here, hopefully I'll be in Tony Pulis's plans. I'm sure we'll sit down together and have a lot of discussions about a lot of things over the next few days.

"I've seen the red card and I think it's harsh. He slips into the challenge."

  85. 1731:
    MANAGER REACTION- Fulham 1-2 Swansea
    Martin Jol

Fulham boss Martin Jol: "Darren Bent could have scored a hat-trick and we should have been up but it didn't happen and the own goal we scored was tough on us as we could have been up at half-time.

"If you don't score, you can't win games. They had players missing and we had the chance to beat them. You have to take the opportunities in this league and we didn't.

"All the hard work we've done in the last two weeks we haven't built on today.

"I want the fans to realise that Swansea are a good team and we were unfortunate. A win would have put us above them and it was close."

  86. 1730:
    KICK-OFF- West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

West Ham get this derby going. As a colleague pointed out, this certainly isn't the friendly derby.

  87. 1728:
West Ham v Chelsea (1730 GMT)

Players out on the pitch and we're almost ready to roll in the London derby.

  88. 1727:

We've got some Gus Poyet reaction coming up for you soon. He's smiling at the moment but not sure that's going to last when he's asked about Wes Brown's red card for Sunderland.

  89. 1723:
    LINE-UPS- West Ham v Chelsea (1730 GMT)

Just a reminder of the line-ups in case you missed them earlier.

West Ham: Jaaskelainen, Demel, Collins, Tomkins, O'Brien, Collison, Noble, Downing, Morrison, Joe Cole, Nolan. Subs: McCartney, Jarvis, Maiga, Adrian, Taylor, Diame, Carlton Cole.

Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta, Mikel, Lampard, Ramires, Oscar, Hazard, Eto'o. Subs: Cole, Essien, Mata, Schurrle, Ba, Willian, Schwarzer.

  91. 1719:
    MANAGER REACTION- Newcastle 2-1 Norwich
    Alan Pardew

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew: "I thought we looked a little tired in the second half. Norwich had a good second half but I felt we were in control of the game.

"That is a third win on the trot and a big, big win. This was as important as beating Chelsea and Spurs.

"We are looking really solid and have good influence off the bench. We are in good shape. We deserved to win. I don't think we were brilliant but the most important thing was the three points."

  92. 1718:
Former Tottenham striker Garth Crooks on Final ScoreStoke 2-0 Sunderland

"Referees' chief Mike Riley has made a rod for his own back by calling West Brom about the Chelsea penalty. What is he going to do now after the decisions today?"

  93. 1718:
    PLAYER REACTION- Arsenal 2-0 Southampton
    Olivier Giroud

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud: "They [Southampton] have improved themselves [since losing 6-1 at Emirates Stadium last season]. That's why they are third in the table.

"We really wanted to play the game from the start and really respected this team. We were a bit lucky on the first goal, but I think that really helped us for the rest of the game.

"I didn't give up on my duel with the keeper. Usually I used to go too quickly and he could dribble me, but this time I stand on my legs and was a bit lucky, took ball and scored. It's nice for the team.

"Two days before [the match] I lost my grandfather so I'm really motivated to dedicate these goals to him and I hope he is proud of me in the sky."

Oker: We were lucky to beat Southampton today. To win the league, we need to create and score well worked goals.

Just Dylan: Wouldn't mind seeing Lallana and Wanyama in an Arsenal shirt.

Manav Mehta: Szczesny has been terrific too, brilliant win.

  95. 1716:
    MANAGER REACTION- Fulham 1-2 Swansea

Swansea boss Michael Laudrup: "Another win away is always difficult wherever you play and especially this time. It was so important for us today. Apart from that though we played very well and I think it was well deserved.

"In difficult moments, it is important to get points and we kept our way of playing. It's not always easy when you have added pressure so I have to congratulate the team.

"We scored good goals and we had chances for more but even without looking through biased eyes, we deserved it."

  96. 1715:

There is a three-way tie on 35 points at the top of the Championship after Burnley were held and Leicester and QPR both won.

David Nugent's second-half double helped the Foxes fight back to beat Ipswich and Charlie Austin's fine solo goal was enough for Rangers to sink London rivals Charlton.

The Clarets had to settle for a point against fellow high-flyers Nottingham Forest despite taking the lead through a Sam Vokes penalty. Simon Cox cancelled that out before the break and Sean Dyche's side are now only top on goal difference.

Aitor Karanka's first game in charge of Middlesbrough ended in a 2-1 defeat against Leeds after Boro keeper Jason Steele was sent off. That result puts Leeds in the play-off places after Watford lost at home to Bolton.

At the foot of the table, Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley stay in the bottom three after defeats by Huddersfield and Millwall, with a late Scott Wiseman own goal sinking the Tykes.

  97. 1715:
    Premier League table

The bottom of the Premier League table will look sweet to Crystal Palace and incoming boss Tony Pulis tonight - they are not bottom any more.

The O's replace Wolves at the summit after Kenny Jackett's side were held to a goalless draw by in-form Brentford at Molineux and the top two have extended their lead over the chasing pack because Peterborough were upset at home by Stevenage.

Ryan Lowe scored a hat-trick as Tranmere claimed the honour for biggest win of the day, 5-1 at Coventry, and an Aden Flint own goal settled a tense clash at the bottom of the table as Sheffield United saw off Bristol City.

It has been a good day for the top three in League Two, with leaders Oxford United, Chesterfield and Rochdale all winning.

Fourth-placed Fleetwood also picked up three points, but not without a struggle, going 1-0 up, 2-1 down, then 4-2 up against Mansfield. The Stags looked like sending Cod Army fans barmy with two late goals to make it 4-4 but Antoni Sarcevic had other ideas, completing his hat-trick from the penalty spot in stoppage time to edge a crazy encounter.

Southend stay fifth after Luke Prosser snatched a late win over York in what was not a good game for the other goalscorers. Kevan Hurst put the Shrimpers ahead before getting sent off for two bookings and Ryan Bowman also saw red, for a bad tackle, a few minutes after equalising.

  143. 1631:

Lots happening at the summit of League Two this afternoon, with Rochdale, level on points at the top, back in front against Exeter thanks to a Graham Cummins finish, having been pegged back by a deflected Alan Gow goal.

Fleetwood who went ahead in the first minute against Mansfield but were quickly 2-1 down are now 4-2 up. Gareth Evans, who scored their first goal has just given the Cod Army some breathing space in a topsy-turvy game.

And Southend, who started the day in fifth, have not enjoyed the second half of their game against York. The Minstermen equalised at Roots Hall through Ryan Bowman's neat finish, just before Shrimpers goalscorer Kevan Hurst was sent off for a second yellow card.

  155. 1619:
GOAL- Fulham 1-1 Swansea - Scott Parker (64 mins)

Fulham are level and it's almost certainly an accident. Scott Parker is on the edge of the area and puts the ball into the top corner, leaving Swansea keeper Michel Vorm with no chance.

But it looked suspiciously like an attempted chip into the danger zone, not sure Parker would ever have attempted that. But it doesn't matter, it's all level at Craven Cottage.

  200. 1541:
Former Aston Villa striker Dion Dublin on Final ScoreStoke 1-0 Sunderland

"Absolutely nowhere near a red card. I think the referee saw the pace that Wes Brown went into it.

"He did not touch the player, it was a 100% fair challenge and the referee has got it 100% wrong."

Watch Final Score on the Red Button and BBC Sport website now.

  201. 1541:
    Hull 0-0 Crystal Palace

Not much to report from the KC Stadium apart from the fact that after valiantly attempting to play on after an early clash of heads with Paul McShane, Marouane Chamakh has been forced off. He's been replaced by Stoke loanee Cameron Jerome.

  202. 1540:
    Stoke 1-0 Sunderland

Just seen that Wes Brown sending off again and it's pretty obvious to see why Sunderland boss Guy Poyet is so furious.

Brown went flying into the challenge but won the ball and barely seemed to touch Charlie Adam in his follow through.

It's a long, long way back for the Black Cats now.

GOAL- Newcastle 2-0 Norwich - Yoan Gouffran (38 mins)

Magpies striker Shola Ameobi has a header parried by Norwich keeper John Ruddy but Yoan Gouffran pounces to prod in a second for Newcastle from point-blank range.

  205. 1536:
GOAL- Arsenal 1-0 Southampton - Olivier Giroud (22 mins)

That is one of the most ridiculous goals you will ever see in the Premier League. Southampton keeper Artur Boruc has had one of the worst moments of his career. He is trying to twist and turn his way out of trouble and Olivier Giroud steals the ball off him and scores from close range.

Absolutely farcical stuff by the Pole.

  206. 1536:
    RED CARD- Stoke 1-0 Sunderland

Sunderland defender Wes Brown is sent off and manager Gus Poyet is furious.

  207. 1535:

Championship leaders Burnley have broken the deadlock in what has been a tight and tense encounter against Nottingham Forest. Kieran Trippier's cross was handled in the area and Sam Vokes stepped up to convert the penalty.

It is stalemate in the game of the day in League One between Wolves and Brentford but there have been two goals in two minutes at the County Ground. Nick Ajose put Swindon ahead after a deflected shot fell into his path but, just seconds later, David Mooney provided an instant response for second-placed Leyton Orient with a lovely finish.

And things are no longer quite so tight at the top of League Two. James Constable put Oxford in front against Morecambe and Sean Rigg has just slid in a second for the U's after getting on the end of a cross. They are two points clear, as things stand.

  208. 1535:
    Stoke 1-0 Sunderland

Not a good omen for Sunderland fans - they have gone behind in seven games this season so far and lost them all.

  209. 1534:
Former Aston Villa striker Dion Dublin on Final ScoreArsenal 0-0 Southampton

HITS THE WOODWORK- Fulham 0-0 Swansea

Fulham striker Darren Bent will be kicking himself. He latches on to a long ball which Swansea defender Chico Flores fails to deal with and lashes a volley against the post.

Bent had acres of space in the centre of the area but couldn't give Fulham the lead. This one is improving, the sides have settled.

  211. 1533:
HITS THE WOODWORK- Arsenal 0-0 Southampton

Mesut Ozil takes a cross from the right and Arsenal's in-form midfielder Aaron Ramsey tries an audacious flick, which hits the post.

  213. 1531:
    Newcastle 1-0 Norwich

Shola Ameobi plays a fine ball forward to Moussa Sissoko but the France midfielder drags his shot wide of John Ruddy's post.

  214. 1529:
GOAL- Stoke 1-0 Sunderland - Charlie Adam (30 mins)

Steven Nzonzi takes the ball into the box and pulls it back for Charlie Adam, who strokes home from just behind the penalty spot.

  215. 1528:
    Fulham 0-0 Swansea

Swansea wideman Roland Lamah shuffles on the edge of the area before driving a shot just wide of Maarten Stekelenburg's post via a deflection off Aaron Hughes. The goalkeeper was beaten.

Almost instantly, Fulham respond with Darren Bent getting on the end of a beautiful Scott Parker cross to head wide from eight yards.

  216. 1527:
    Fulham 0-0 Swansea

Swansea are enjoying their best spell of possession at Craven Cottage but the Welsh side look blunt in the final third. It's not surprising, they have scored only three goals in the first-half of Premier League games this season. Only Cardiff City (two) and Norwich City (one) have been more sedate in the opening 45 minutes.

  217. 1526:
HITS THE WOODWORK- Arsenal 0-0 Southampton

The ball breaks in the box to Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere who chips the ball over Artur Boruc, but the ball comes back off the inside of the post and is gathered by the keeper.

  222. 1518:

We are under way in the delayed game at the Emirates.

Not great news for Championship promotion hopefuls Leicester, who have fallen behind to David McGoldrick's fierce 25-yard strike for Ipswich.

In the early kick-off in League One, lower-league goal machine Ryan Lowe has completed his hat-trick to put Tranmere 4-0 ahead against Coventry.

And there have been a few goals in League Two too. Mansfield went behind in the first minute against Fleetwood when Gareth Evans followed up Nathan Tyson's shot but Chris Clements has just levelled for the Stags.

Another high-flying team are ahead, though. The in-form Kevan Hurst has put Southend ahead against York and, as things stand, the top five are separated by only one point.

  227. 1515:
    Stoke 0-0 Sunderland

Stoke on top so far with Marko Arnautovic going close but Sunderland are starting to come back into it.

Black Cats striker Steven Fletcher has just had a shot saved by Asmir Begovic and then another chance went begging for the Scot with Ryan Shawcross clearing off the line after the ball came off Robert Huth.

  228. 1512:

Neither team on top so far at Craven Cottage. Fulham captain Scott Parker has had a long-distance shot saved easily by Michel Vorm.

  229. 1509:
    MANAGER REACTION- Everton 3-3 Liverpool

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers: "It was a terrific game,. I've been involved in a few and they are real heart-stoppers.

"We again showed our resilience and ability to fight back. This is a difficult place to come and they haven't lost at Goodison Park this year.

"We should have gone 3-1 and that would have killed the game. After that we couldn't keep ball. I'm disappointed with defending from the corner (from which Romelu Lukaku scored) and we have to be stronger. All-in-all a wonderful game and when you come to your rivals it is important not to lose."

  230. 1508:
    MANAGER REACTION- Everton 3-3 Liverpool

Everton manager Roberto Martinez: "It's really disappointing we didn't get three points. I'm disappointed to concede from three set plays.

"They had good opportunities from open play but we had more. To concede late on from a dead ball situation doesn't reward my team for how they played in second half."

On Mirallas tackle on Gerrard: "You are going to expect that nature of challenges because of what it means and the nature of the atmosphere created around the players. I didn't think it was a red card. He was a bit late. Overall, the referee controlled emotions of players well and allowed game to flow."
