MOTD3: Are Southampton the example for England?

MOTD3 pundits Robbie Savage, Peter Schmeichel and Alan Shearer discuss how difficult it can be for young players to break in to the England senior squad.

An article published in the Daily Mail in 2007, predicted which young players would go on to feature in England's 2014 World Cup squad and of the starting eleven listed, only Theo Walcott stands as a current England player.

Shearer believes that Southampton should be seen as an example of how to bring young players through, with the trio of Adam Lallana, Jay Rodriguez and Rickie Lambert all recently receiving their call-ups to Roy Hodgson's England team.
