As it happened

  1. 22:03:

I wonder if Sheffield United fans are happy tonight or not.

Anyway, that's the FA Cup parked for 10 days or so, it's the Champions League for us all tomorrow as Man United go Greek.

We shall see you there. Adios.

  2. 21:59:
Manager reaction- Sheff Weds 1-2 Charlton
    Chris Powell

Charlton manager Chris Powell: "We are party-poopers in Yorkshire!

"We needed to score when we were on top and we did but they worked us hard after the break. Our keeper Ben Hamer made some cracking saves but that's cup football.

"It's not been the greatest campaign - that's an understatemtnt - but this means a lot. That's two huge results in 72 hours. You savour these moments because there have been plenty of dark moments."

  3. 21:52:

Those FA Cup quarter-finals will be held over the weekend of 8/9 March, with Arsenal v Everton and Manchester City v Wigan on TV as it stands.

Of course, we can bring you all the action from all the games wherever you may be.

Chris Waddle on BBC Radio 5 live sports extraSheff Weds 1-2 Charlton

"The hype around Sheffield got to the Wednesday players. They never got settled and were chasing the game.

"Charlton deserved the win and I expect that they will have too much for Sheffield United too."

  5. 21:47:
    Quarter-final draw

Here's the last eight in the FA Cup then:

    Arsenal v Everton

    Hull City v Sunderland

    Sheffield United v Charlton Athletic

    Manchester City v Wigan Athletic

    It's anyone's Cup.

Danny Mills on BBC Radio 5 liveHull 2-1 Brighton

"I expect Steve Bruce to play his strongest team against Sunderland. They will be dreaming - how many times will they have the chance to go to Wembley in a cup final?

"Brighton were too respectful of Hull. The cliche is they can concentrate on the league but nobody wants that. You want to win every game."

John Winchester: Great three days for Charlton, semi-final is now possible. Lets hope it gets the season rolling

Luke Wilson: Chris Powell deserves a new contract regardless of Charlton's situation at the moment.

  8. 21:44:
    Hull 2-1 Brighton
    Robert Koren

Hull midfielder Robert Koren: "We played on Saturday but we showed a good spirit.

"The legs went a bit in the second half but we are happy to go through."

  9. 21:42:

Bon Jovi's 'Keep the faith' rings out at Hillsborough as the home fans drift away into the night. The Sheffield derby will not happen then, but all credit to Charlton.

Chris Waddle BBC Radio 5 live sports extraFULL-TIME- Sheff Weds 1-2 Charlton

"There will be a lot of disappointed fans tonight. Sheffield Wednesday have not shown enough quality, they looked dangerous from set pieces but that is it.

"Charlton's gameplan was spot-on. They dug in when they had to and they looked like they had another gear they could kick into."

  11. 21:40:
    FULL-TIME- Sheff Weds 1-2 Charlton

Charlton poop the Sheffield party! Charlton will face Sheffield United in the last eight, with a place at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-finals on offer.

  12. 21:40:
    Sheff Weds 1-2 Charlton

All hands on deck for Charlton as they hammer another long ball away...

  13. 21:38:
GREAT SAVE!- Sheff Weds 1-2 Charlton

Chris Maguire's shot is deflected - and Ben Hamer makes a flying save! That could be massive...

  14. 21:36:
    FULL-TIME- Hull 2-1 Brighton

There it is, Hull will face Sunderland in the last eight.

  15. 21:35:
    Hull 2-1 Brighton

Matty Fryatt curls one straight at Peter Brezovan as Hull counter away. Solly March then has a shot for Brighton but it's easy for Steev Harper.

Hull minutes away from round six.

  16. 21:34:
INJURY TIME- Sheff Weds 1-2 Charlton

Chris Maguire hits the free-kick into the wall and it is scrambled away for a corner, which Atdhe Nuhiu heads over the top.

Into added time in both games...

El, Holyhead: Normally I'd love to see a team like Charlton progress in the cup especially for Chris Powell. But a Sheffield derby makes me want to see Wednesday nick the tie.

  18. 21:32:
YELLOW CARD- Sheff Weds 1-2 Charlton

Charlton defender Richard Wood drags down Atdhe Nuhiu and he's booked. Free-kick in a good area for Wednesday...

  19. 21:32:
    CLOSE!- Sheff Weds 1-2 Charlton

Chance for Wednesday! Substitutes Atdhe Nuhiu and Caolan Lavery combine to get free in the area, Lavery lashes in a shot but it hits Leon Best!

Chris Waddle on BBC Radio 5 live sports extraSheff Weds 1-2 Charlton

"Sheffield Wednesday haven't created enough. They've been too direct and been too easy to play against."

  21. 21:30:
    CLOSE!- Hull 2-1 Brighton

Leonardo Ulloa looks like the only man who could score for Brighton, and he goes close too, curling one wide from 20-odd yards. Hull continue to work hard but they are hanging on when they could have been out of sight...

  22. 21:29:
    SUBSTITUTION- Sheff Weds 1-2 Charlton

A tester for all broadcasters out there as Simon Church is replaced by Reza Ghoochannejhad. Goochy for short, surely?

  23. 21:28:
FINAL FIVE- Sheff Weds 1-2 Charlton

Into the last five minutes of regulation time in both of our games. There's a stoppage at Hillsborough though as Charlton goalscorer Callum Harriott goes down with an injury.

Steve, Charlton exile in Southampton: Charlton are a credit to the FA Cup. Fighting relegation and playing a hard game v QPR on Saturday but fighting to go further in the cup. Come on you reds!

  25. 21:25:
    Hull 2-1 Brighton

David Meyler hits a shot wide from 20 yards as we hear that the attendance at Hull is 10,795 (486 Brighton fans) tonight.

It looked quite full at kick-off, I was obviously deceived by a clever bit of camerawork. Apologies.

  26. 21:23:
    Hull 2-1 Brighton

Leonardo Ulloa flicks a header wide as Brighton look for this equaliser. They don't change their patient style of play though, there's no route-one stuff heading for Steve Harper's goal yet.

    Into the final 10 minutes.

Chris Waddle on BBC Radio 5 live sports extraSheff Weds 1-2 Charlton

"Both sides are going for it, it's very competitive as they go head to head but there's not a lot of football being played.

"Both teams look dangerous from set-pieces and Wednesday were very unlucky not to to equalise there. The ball looked like it may have been over the line but it was good goalkeeping from Ben Hamer to be fair."

  28. 21:19:
    Hull 2-1 Brighton

We have 15 minutes (of normal time) remaining at the KC. This one could go to extra-time and penalties remember. Hull continue to be pegged back in their own half by Brighton.

HITS THE WOODWORK- Sheff Weds 1-2 Charlton

Wednesday think they've scored! Chris Maguire delivers a corking set-piece this time, substitute Atdhe Nuhiu heads against the inside of the post and Charlton keeper Ben Hamer is able to stop the ball on the line.

Was it over the line? It's so, so close...

Luke Crowter: I remember playing football with Charlton winger Callum Harriott in primary school: he dominated even with a tennis ball and bench goals

  33. 21:15:
    Hull 2-1 Brighton

Brighton sensing a comeback now, they are seeing all of the ball, with nerves transmitting down to the Hull players now. Steve Bruce is on his feet urging his players to step out.

  34. 21:11:
GOAL- Hull 2-1 Brighton - Leonardo Ulloa (69 mins)

And Brighton are back in it at the KC! Maybe!

Another soft goal from a set-piece, David Lopez swinging in a beauty from the left wing and Leonardo Uloa rising highest in the pack to nod past Steve Harper and into the net.

Can they find a second in the last 20 minutes?

Chris Waddle BBC Radio 5 live sports extraSheff Weds 1-2 Charlton

"That goal has come against the run of play. But it was a gift for Simon Church, nobody went with him at all.

"You just can't concede goals like that. Shocking defending."

  36. 21:09:
GOAL- Sheff Weds 1-2 Charlton - Simon Church (65 mins)

This Sheffield derby is just not going to happen is it? Charlton have a free-kick out wide, Wednesday step up to try and play offside and Simon Church has a free header, finishing easily in front of he away fans!

  37. 21:07:
    Hull 2-0 Brighton

Hull should wrap the tie up, they have a man over on a swift attack through the middle, Sone Aluko is played through but he's slow to get the shot away and Stephen Ward is able to make a cracking block, the ball squirting away out of play.

Stevo: Forget the flip charts and note pads...brighton using ipads to give their player instructions before subs

Oli Wainwright: To everyone championing Charlton's 'easy' route to Wembley: Sheff Utd have already beaten Fulham, Forest & Villa. Not scared.

Joe Cooper: Regarding atmospheres getting worse, is it a lack of fan spirit? Just look at cpfcs crowd, they are all so loud and passionate

  39. 21:05:
    Hull 2-0 Brighton

Half chance for Hull as former Wigan left-back Maynor Figueroa bursts into the box and thrashes in a shot which is deflected over the top. It's looking like Sundeland boss Gus Poyet will not be returning to Brighton at this rate.

  40. 21:04:
    CLOSE!- Sheff Weds 1-1 Charlton

Almost an instant impact from 6ft 4in Atdhe Nuhiu! The Austrian meets a cross from Chris Maguire at the near post but a combination of goalkeeper and defender hack the ball clear.

    Into the last half hour.

  41. 21:03:
    SUBSTITUTION- Sheff Weds 1-1 Charlton

Stuart Gray had been readying a change and that goal from Leon Best hasn't changed his mind.

It's a double change, strikers Atdhe Nuhiu and Caolan Lavery on for Wednesday. Nice and easy spellings then...

Hayden Taylor: RE: Charlie Pittock 20:51, Charlton would probably prefer to play away, given the quality of their pitch #sundayleague

Crimp: C'mon the Charlton Academy boys ... Poyet 18, Harriott 19, Cousins 19, dominating the midfield away v Sheffield Weds.

  43. 21:01:
GOAL- Sheff Weds 1-1 Charlton - Leon Best (57 mins)

It's there! We have a cup tie on our hands now as Sheffield Wednesday level it up, Leon Best meeting Miguel Llera's knock down with a finish from close-range. Game on!

Chris Waddle on BBC Radio 5 live sports extraSheff Weds 0-1 Charlton

"Sheffield Wednesday are playing a bit better but it's still scrappy. Stuart Gray will give it another 10 minutes and then make changes. He won't want to go out of the Cup like this."

Danny Mills on BBC Radio 5 liveHull 2-0 Brighton

"I think Hull are getting a bit complacent and they're getting caught in possession. They need to get that third goal, then they can relax. Brighton aren't out of it until it gets to 3-0."

  46. 20:57:
    Hull 2-0 Brighton

Sloppy. That's the word to describe Brighton's performance as they just fritter possession away in a good area. Oscar Garcia shakes his head - he's not angry, he's disappointed.

Jack from London: Everybody rules a team out based on league form. I'm a Charlton fan, we have been poor most of the season but the FA Cup is full of magic we just need one more and it's game over. Roll on sheff utd in the quarters win that and then Wembley bound....come on you Addicks

Rob in Nottingham: Better at Hull than at Man City last week for the biggest game in their history last week. Atmosphere in general keeps getting worse in football. Bring back safe standing.

  48. 20:53:
    CLOSE!- Sheff Weds 0-1 Charlton

A second goal for Charlton could be fatal for hopes of a steel city derby, and Johnnie Jackson goes close to finding it with a 25-yarder that has Damian Martinez scrabbling to his left in the Wednesday goal. Close!

  49. 20:52:
HITS THE WOODWORK- Hull 2-0 Brighton

The team in blue and white also start well at Hull, as centre-half Lewis Dunk leathers a shot against the underside of the crossbar on the turn. Dunk has never scored in his career, that was almost a cracker!

    Text us on 81111

Jon Allsopp: Let's not write off Wednesday yet, going a goal down with still 45 to play with a decent crowd behind them. Coke, Gardner, Best to boss it from now.

  51. 20:51:
    CLOSE!- Sheff Weds 0-1 Charlton

Jacques Maghoma was a passenger for Sheffield Wednesday in the first half as the ball was continually pumped down the middle but the left winger is straight into the action, cutting in from the left and finding Leon Best but his shot is charged down.

Giles Coke then flashes a shot wide from 20 yards. Good start from the hosts.

Charlie Pittock: Charlton haven't had an easy route to Wembley if they get there, away ties galore seems their draw!

And back under way at Hillsborough to the strains of 2Unlimited. All the music to come from Sheffield and you go for 'No Limit'?

Back under way at the KC.

Seagull Syd: Feel the same as Saints fans. Oscar Garcia should have taken the strongest side to Hull. Is it another case of foreign coaches not appreciating what the FA cup means?

Lee at Hillsborough: We've had an amazing resurgence at Hillsborough in recent weeks, and they've not turned up for the biggest one of all. Gutted.

Liam: All of this talk of a Sheffield love in, and the FA Cup losing it's magic! Can someone give sir Chris and his Charlton team some credit here, we have a team of kids and only turned QPR over 48 hours ago!

  56. 20:46:
    SUBSTITUTION- Hull 2-0 Brighton

Brighton do bring on a winger at the break, but it's Kazenga LuaLua on in place of David Rodriguez.

    Join the debate at #bbcfootball

Alex Lench: Charlton looking good for arguably the easiest road to Wembley ever.

  58. 20:42:
    Hull 2-0 Brighton

Brighton winger Solly March added some danger when he came on as a replacement in the first game, Oscar Garcia may look to him again here.

They've been tame so far, managing just one effort in the first 45 minutes. Leo Ulloa has been anonymous.

  59. 20:38:

So Hull and Charlton are 45 minutes away from the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Here's a final reminder of the draw:

    Arsenal v Everton

Brighton & Hove Albion or Hull City v Sunderland

Sheffield United v Sheffield Wednesday or Charlton Athletic

    Manchester City v Wigan Athletic

  60. 20:37:
Chris Waddle on BBC Radio 5 live sports extraHALF-TIME- Sheff Weds 0-1 Charlton

"Stuart Gray will be firing a few bullets in that dressing room. His team have been disappointing, they have not been brave enough to want the ball and get on the ball.

"They are going through the motions. He has to tell them to get the ball down and play."

  61. 20:35:
Danny Mills on BBC Radio 5 liveHALF-TIME- Hull 2-0 Brighton

"Brighton have only made 11 tackles. Hull have had 300 passes, Brighton are just not working them hard. They're a team who have just turned up and allowed Hull to play."

  62. 20:35:
    Sheff Weds 0-1 Charlton

Charlton surround the referee asking for that red card. No dice.

  63. 20:34:
PENALTY APPEAL- Sheff Weds 0-1 Charlton

Simon Church gets goal-side of Miguel Llera and goes down in a heap, he wants a penalty but referee Mark Clattenburg is not interested. Llera would have been sent off as well there...

    HALF-TIME- Hull 2-0 Brighton
  66. 20:31:
    Sheff Weds 0-1 Charlton

Sheffield Wednesday force a flurry of corners but can't find that leveller. Now the home side have shrugged off that early nervousness they are well on top. Charlton manager Chris Powell wants that half-time whistle now.

    Text us on 81111

Paul in Brighton: When Brighton made the cup final in 1983. I was 10 years old as we made our way to Wembley I remember my dad saying "enjoy this son, they'll never make a another FA Cup final in your life" I'm beginning to think he was right..

Rob in London: All these rules from other sports? Let's give all the players a stick and play with an egg shaped ball!

Roman in Bristol: The FA Cup semis should be at neutral high capacity grounds other than Wembley. The League Cup should also only be open to teams not in Europe.

  68. 20:28:

Brighton to Hull on a Monday night. That is a relationship killer. Or a career killer...

Danny Mills on BBC Radio 5 liveHull 2-0 Brighton

"I feel for the Brighton fans, they've had nothing to cheer about. They must have left at lunchtime to come up here. Their team haven't really turned up yet."

  70. 20:26:
GREAT SAVE!- Sheff Weds 0-1 Charlton
    Leon Best

Wednesday piling on the pressure now as Leon Best takes the ball down on his chest, turns and hits a piledriver which Ben Hamer has to hang on to. The home crowd are right behind their team now as we approach half-time.

    Text us on 81111

Daniel Wilkinson, Newcastle: A few people have mentioned playing games abroad. Why not try something different and scrap the Charity Shield and play a 'masters' style 5 a side tournament over a weekend abroad. The fans would love that and would be a great start to the season and involve all teams!

  72. 20:24:
GREAT SAVE!- Sheff Weds 0-1 Charlton

Better from the home side as on-loan Aston Villa man Gary Gardner hammers in a drive from 20 yards, forcing Ben Hamer into a flying save in the Charlton goal! Best moment so far from Wednesday.

  74. 20:21:
GOAL- Hull 2-0 Brighton - Robert Koren (36 mins)
    Robert Koren

If you thought Hull's first goal was scrappy, this one makes it look like Maradona in the Azteca. Robert Koren lines up a free-kick 25 yards out, he scuffs it over the wall, it flicks off the toe of Brighton midfielder Keith Andrews, hits the foot of Peter Brezovan in the Brighton goal before dropping almost apologetically over the line.

  76. 20:18:
    Sheff Weds 0-1 Charlton

Charlton winger Callum Harriott has been earning some rave reviews in recent weeks and he's gained another big fan tonight in the guise of Chris Waddle, who is raving about his wing play.

Wednesday just can't get any form of rhythm going at all, it's aimless long ball after aimless long ball. Howls of frustration and derision rain down from a busy Hillsborough.

Danny Mills on BBC Radio 5 liveHull 1-0 Brighton

"Brighton are allowing Hull to have the ball, they have to be more aggressive in their style of play."

  78. 20:12:
    Sheff Weds 0-1 Charlton

Wednesday fans are on their feet and applauding for the first time tonight as Chris Maguire beats his man on the right and puts in a fine cross which Jacques Maghoma is close to touching home. It's taken 27 minutes but that was a bit of quality.

Stuart Gray will be keen to get into his players at the break.

Sheffield United fan David Snazzy Swagams: Why does the FA Cup have to change? We've beaten Villa, Fulham and Forest but we don't deserve extra nine points or to play in Europe.

Xander Bennett: People saying the FA Cup winners get Champions League football, I disagree, is there any point of someone like Wigan in it?

Adam JG: Final at Wembley, 1/4s & semis played abroad to highest bidders & feed money to grass roots. Bit of spark to shake FA Cup up

  80. 20:10:
    Hull 1-0 Brighton

Brighton seeing plenty of the ball since going behind but much like the first meeting between these sides last Monday, there's not much goal-mouth action. Brighton do all of their good work in the middle third.

Chris Waddle on BBC Radio 5 live sports extraSheff Weds 0-1 Charlton

"There's only one team who have turned up so far and that is Charlton. They thoroughly deserve that lead and the way this game is going there is only one winner on the cards.

"Wednesday have to change it. 4-4-2 is not working."

  82. 20:07:
GOAL- Sheff Weds 0-1 Charlton - Callum Harriott (22 mins)

There it is! Again a cross from the left is not dealt with, the ball comes back out to Callum Harriott in the 'D' and the youngster lashes it home left-footed. Fabulous strike and the Sheffield derby may not happen after all...

  83. 20:06:
    Sheff Weds 0-0 Charlton

Wednesday all over the place as Charlton easily deal time and again with their aimless punts downfield. Charlton remain a threat out wide but can't quite find the killer touch yet.

Si in Farnborough: If you took Prem teams out of the League Cup and gave its Europa place to the other FA Cup finalists that would provide more incentive AND reduce fixture pile-up. Then offer big prize money to the FL teams that make the semis of the League Cup to keep it competitive.

Danny Mills on BBC Radio 5 liveHull 1-0 Brighton

"Jake Forster-Caskey had to try to challenge David Meyler - there's a massive height difference and he got muscled out of it. It's an unfortunate goal for Brighton."

  86. 20:03:
    Hull 1-0 Brighton

  88. 20:00:
GOAL- Hull 1-0 Brighton - Curtis Davies (14 mins)

A terrible goal! Curtis Davies wins a header from a corner, it floats up in the air and over Peter Brezovan in the Brighton goal and Jake Forster-Caskey can't clear it on the post under pressure from David Meyler.

Hull lead, they won't care how scruffy the goal is...

  89. 19:58:

No real chances of note at the KC so far, it's an even game. Steve Bruce is patrolling the touchline, unhappy with somebody or other.

    CLOSE!- Sheff Weds 0-0 Charlton

Best chance of the night! Callum Harriott beats his man down the left wing and picks out Astrit Ajdarevic in the middle, his strike is tame and blocked by Miguel Llera, but the Swede almost buries the rebound only to see his effort turned away again.

    Charlton well on top.

Chris Waddle on BBC Radio 5 live sports extraSheff Weds 0-0 Charlton

"There's not a lot of football being played. Both teams look very, very nervous. Very edgy."

Former England defender Danny Mills on BBC Radio 5 liveHull 0-0 Brighton

"Hull are just starting to get on top. Brighton are going to have to do something about Ahmed Elmohamady on the right, they're playing a narrow three in the middle and sitting too deep."

  94. 19:53:
    Hull 0-0 Brighton

Better from Hull as David Meyler and Jake Livermore link up well on the edge of the box before finding a deep cross which Matty Fryatt is close to reaching on the stretch.

  95. 19:52:
    Sheff Weds 0-0 Charlton

Andez: The League Cup has the perfect format, the FA cup has all the magic. I would love to see no replays and no Wembley semi-finals

  97. 19:50:

"The goal I scored for Sheffield Wednesday in the 1993 FA Cup semi-final against Sheffield United gets brought up at least once a week.

"Brighton have taken around 300 fans, that's a magnificent effort."

The melodic chimes of Simple Minds accompanies the teams at Hillsborough. At the KC there's also a fine atmosphere from a decent crowd. Wembley is almost visible on the horizon...

Almost kick-off time then. The magic of the FA Cup has been distilled and dispensed liberally around the KC and Hillsborough. Let's go for it...

Adam Stewart: People should stop complaining. Bobby Charlton, Best etc managed to play 40-50 games a season in an era with 0/1 substitute

Will Temps: A steel city derby would be great for the city but I can't risk losing a place at Wembley to them. Charlton do me a favour!

UnSimpleSimon: Only reason why clubs obsess over CL is the $. Pay FA cup winner £40m, 2nd £25m, the 3rd £15m, 4th £10m, 1/4finalists £5m.

Sheff Weds v Charlton (19:45 GMT)

Charlton boss Chris Powell: "I got home late Saturday night and was out of bed very early on Sunday morning to get ready for this one. Some of the lads had to train on Sunday and there are a few weary bodies.

"But everyone's ready for the game."

Robert Wolf Petersen: Stop using penalties to decide ties. Instead, play 15-minute periods of extra time until someone scores.

Weren't you signed by Cardiff in January RwP?

Sheff Weds v Charlton (19:45 GMT)

Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Gray: "If you'd said to me at the start of the season that I would be managing a side in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup I'd have snapped your hand off.

"It's been a great cup run. The fans are starting to dream but we can't take anything for granted."

Ade Clewlow: Use the Cup to trial much needed change: have two refs (like hockey); stop the clock to remove extra time (like rugby); and remove offside.

    Hull v Brighton (19:45 GMT)

Sone Aluko believes he can find the net, and insists he has not given up hope of going to the World Cup with Nigeria this summer.

The former England youth international switched allegiances five years ago and made his Super Eagles debut in 2009.

Aluko, 25, has not played for his country since June 2012 and has been overlooked for next month's friendly against Mexico in Atlanta, Georgia.

However, Aluko is hoping the fact he is back playing for Hull City could enhance his chances.

"I believe I do have a chance of making the World Cup squad, even though I have been out of the squad for a long time," he told BBC Sport.

Sheff Weds v Charlton (19:45 GMT)

Uefa's insistence on games not being played on Champions League nights is causing some headaches for the men and women behind the fixture computer, I can tell you.

We have no idea when any sixth-round replays (if needed) could be held at the minute, but should Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton need a replay after tonight it will be staged on Tuesday 4 March. Next Tuesday.

Dan in Crawley: The only reason they have to play FA Cup tonight is because Uefa won't allow domestic cups to clash with Champions League.

  122. 19:16:

Mark Clattenburg straight back into the action then. You don't hear referees complaining about burn-out do you? I wonder how Clatts has prepared for this one?

    Hull v Brighton (19:45 GMT)

Brighton's Matthew Upson says it is "a shame" they are playing tonight as he wants to give the FA Cup a real go this season.

"It is disappointing in a way because I love the FA Cup and want to give it everything we have," the former England international told BBC Sussex after last Monday's 1-1 draw.

"[With] one day's rest in between it is difficult to commit to the Monday night game as well as we would want to."

  125. 19:14:
    Who's up next?

With a Sheffield derby on the cards in the next round, Charlton may be struggling for the neutral vote tonight.

Here's the full sixth-round draw if your memory needs a jog:

  130. 19:08:
At least we won on Saturday
    Nikica Jelavic

For three of our four sides in action tonight, the quick turnaround at least comes on the back of good wins at the weekend.

Hull were mightily impressive as they whacked Cardiff 4-0 in Wales, Sheffield Wednesday continued their recovery under Stuart Gray with a tidy win at Huddersfield, and Charlton celebrated a massive win at home to QPR.

The odd ones out? Brighton, who were beaten at home by Wigan. Time to bounce back?

  131. 19:05:
Team news- Hull v Brighton (19:45 GMT)

Hull make six changes from the side which beat Cardiff at the weekend. Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long are both cup-tied.

Brighton make five changes of their own, with Peter Brezovan and Keith Andrews among those returning.

Hull XI: Harper, Figueroa, Elmohamady, Chester, Davies, Meyler, Koren, Livermore, Aluko, Sagbo, Fryatt

Brighton XI: Brezovan, Calderon, Dunk, Upson, Ward; Ince, Andrews, Forster-Caskey; David, Ulloa, Rodriguez

  132. 19:04:
    Tonight's games

There are two matches for us to endure/enjoy in the FA Cup tonight.

Hull - who were so close to going out this time last week - face Brighton in a fifth-round replay at the KC Stadium, while Sheffield Wednesday face Charlton in a fifth-round tie at Hillsborough.

That one could yet go to a replay, just to add to the 'pile-up' problems...

  133. 1900:
Feeling fresh?- Hull v Brighton (19:45 GMT)
    Brighton players

    The dreaded 'fixture pile-up.'

Football managers at the top end of the game are usually handed short shrift when they start complaining about the difficulty of shoe-horning any 11 of their multi-million pound assets onto a team-sheet twice a week. For those of us who have to work every day, it doesn't seem too much of a hardship.

But tonight the managers may have a point. Just 50 hours after their last match finished, Steve Bruce, Oscar Garcia, Stuart Gray and Chris Powell will have to send some tired legs back out on the field for some hastily rearranged FA Cup action.

Two games in three days? Get the Deep Heat on standby...
