World Cup 2014: Arturo Vidal included in final Chile squad

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has been selected for Chile's 23-man World Cup squad despite struggling with a knee problem.

Vidal, 26, had surgery on his right leg in early May but has been included.

Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez, Cardiff's Gary Medel, Nottingham Forest's Gonzalo Jara and Wigan's Jean Beausejour are also in the squad.

Chile are drawn in Group B alongside holders Spain, the Netherlands and Australia.

Striker Esteban Paredes, 33, is included despite originally being omitted from the provisional squad of 30.

Coach Jorge Sampaoli had already reduced the squad to 24 but two players from that list have now been left out - defender Marcos Gonzalez and midfielder Rodrigo Millar.

Chile face Northern Ireland in Valparaiso at 01:00 BST on Thursday in their final friendly before their first game of the World Cup, against Australia on 13 June.
