Celtic were always my first choice says new boy Stefan Scepovic
New signing Stefan Scepovic has insisted Celtic were always "his first choice" and denied saying he did not want to join the Scottish champions.
"My first option was always Celtic," Scepovic said as he was unveiled by the club on Tuesday.
"I never said I didn't want to come."
The 24-year-old hitman, who netted 22 goals for Sporting Gijon in Spain's second tier last term, revealed he had spoken to Getafe but was not close to joining the La Liga outfit.
He said there was some confusion over the comments he made about his move and he is now keen to look ahead after penning a four-year deal with Ronny Deila's side.
"I'm very happy I'm here," he added. "Now I just want to look to the future.
"Celtic is a big club with a lot of history. I don't like to speak about me but I will try to bring something different, I will speak on the pitch.
"I will work hard on the field and will do everything to prove that I can play here.
"I hope that we will have a good year and try to do something in Europe. In Serbia we have some Scottish games on TV and I know Celtic is the biggest club, with a lot of history."
