Swindon Wildcats: Shane Moore confident ahead of play-off finals
Swindon Wildcats skipper Shane Moore believes his side can pull off a surprise victory in the English Premier League play-off finals.
The Wildcats, who finished fifth in the regular season, face Manchester Phoenix on Saturday, having sneaked into the semi-finals via an initial play-off.
“With the way we've been playing, any team should be respecting us”
Moore said: "I've played in this league for 10 years and this is my first time going through to the final four.
"We've got as good a chance, if not better, than most teams."
Wildcats will have the backing of 400 fans, who are set to make the trip to the Coventry Skydome on Saturday for the start of the play-off finals.
And the moment will be especially sweet for 27-year-old defender Moore.
"To be captain of my hometown team is fantastic for me," he said.
"If everyone plays the way we know we can play, I'm certain we'll come out with a victory.
"With the way we've been playing, any team should be respecting us. We've everything to play for.
"Manchester are consistent performers and they won the regular season, but we beat them 2-0 at home last time and we are the only team to shut them out the whole season.
"We match up well against them and I definitely think we can go into the game feeling confident."
