The Jersey Rally will go ahead this year after a chairman was installed to take charge of the event.
Jersey Motor Cycle and Light Car Club vice-president Terry Gorvel has been appointed as chairman, ending fears the event would have to be cancelled.
"Terry has been involved with Jersey Rally for over 17 years and has chaired the event on six previous occasions," said JMCLCC president Richard Buchanan.
The event is expected to take place in early October.
Buchanan added: "The 2014 event is in very safe and capable hands."
"We are very grateful to him for taking up the hot seat again."
The race, which went through eight parishes, is one of the few rallies left in Great Britain which is still run entirely on public roads.
