Newcastle Falcons: Ally Hogg expected to miss rest of season

Newcastle Falcons' Ally Hogg is likely to miss their final six Premiership matches with a torn pectoral muscle.

The 31-year-old former Scotland number eight was substituted at half-time in February's 22-16 defeat by Northampton.

He was forced out of the following game with Leicester Tigers - only the second league game he has missed this season.

The news comes as a blow to relegation-threatened Newcastle, who currently sit second-bottom of the table having lost their last 10 Premiership outings.
