Muay Thai boxing is not for the faint-hearted, but even seasoned fighters would flinch if their opponent was kicking with a titanium implant.

That is what was found inside the shin of Bandasak Chaiyasan, who was suspended by the World Muay Thai Council following his 16 May win over Noppadon Chalor, which was by a knockout to the head.

According to, a source at Chaiyasan's training camp said the implant was necessary to help the leg heal following an snapped leg suffered during sparring.

However, international rules state that fighting with an implant inside a leg that is healed is in violation of the rules.

"I have never felt anything like that. I have been fighting for seven years and I have never felt anything like that kick," his opponent Chalor was quoted as saying.
