McGregor vows to wow Vegas UFC fans

Dubliner Conor McGregor insists that he will outclass American Chad Mendes in Saturday night's Ultimate Fighting Championship interim world featherweight title bout in Las Vegas.

Mendes, 30, was a late replacement for Brazilian world champion Jose Aldo who pulled out of the contest two weeks ago because of injury.

A crowd of 10,000 - including a large Irish contingent - are expected to watch the bout at the MGM Grand hotel and the contest is expected to generate a gate of over $7m dollars which will be the largest in UFC's short history.

"I don't just talk the talk. I walk the walk," said the brash McGregor, 26, whose nickname is 'The Notorious'.

"He will learn that first hand on Saturday night. I am confident every shot I throw will mess him up," added the Irishman who won two Cage Warriors world titles before moving into the UFC arena.
