Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, 28, posted a picture on Twitter from inside Liverpool's dressing room after the 1-0 win over Manchester City. "To all @LFC fans, happy New Year, hope you all enjoyed those 3 points! Let 2017 be a fantastic year for all of us," he wrote.

Leicester City defender Danny Simpson, 29, posted a letter on Instagram he had received from a young fan. "This is what this year has been about," wrote Simpson. "Making the impossible possible. A young fan called Gallagher Reid came up to me earlier and gave me this and said thank you for making his dream come true. Other than that I don't score goals but I can try for you mate, if you're around after the game I will give you my match shirt."
