Paul Foster sealed his spot in the quarter-finals of the Scottish International Open in Perth with a victory over England's Mark Royal.

Scot Foster, who won pairs gold alongside Alex Marshall at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, beat Royal 10-9, 9-7.

Stewart Anderson of Scotland lost 8-6, 5-10, 2-1 to Englishman Andy Thomson.

And Australia's Mac McLean beat Scot David Gourlay 8-6, 3-9, 2-0 to reach the last eight.

Top seed Nicky Brett of England also reached the quarter-finals with a 10-4, 10-5 triumph over Jason Greenslade of Wales.

In the quarter-finals on Thursday, Rob Paxton faces Mark Dawes, Brett meets Darren Burnett, McLean is up against Foster and Thomson takes on Les Gillett

On Tuesday, Scot Burnett made it through to the last eight but countryman Marshall crashed out at the hands of Duncan Christie.
