Home favourite Paul Foster reached the semi-finals of the Scottish International Open in Perth by beating Australian Mac McLean.

The Scot saw off McLean, who had already knocked out two former world champions in Greg Harlow and David Gourlay, 11-2 9-7.

Defending champion Nicky Brett of England beat Scot Darren Burnett 8-5 7-7.

Robert Paxton and Andy Thomson also reached the semi-finals.

Englishman Paxton beat Mark Dawes (Eng) 11-6 8-7, and his countryman Thomson was a 6-10 7-6 2-0 winner over Les Gillett, also of England.

In Friday's last four, Brett faces Thomson and Foster takes on Paxton.
