2016 World Bowls Championships: Lesley Doig loses out to Karen Murphy in final


Scotland's Lesley Doig has lost in the women's singles final at the World Bowls Championships in New Zealand.

The 25-year-old, who is a dental nurse, won eight of her nine group matches before overcoming New Zealand's Jo Edwards 21-17 in the semi-final.

However, Doig was beaten 21-13 by Australian Karen Murphy in the final.

In the men's pair final, Ireland's Ian McClure and Gary Kelly also had to settle for being runners-up as they were beaten by Australia as well.
