Britain's Qais Ashfaq lost in the preliminary rounds of the World Amateur Boxing Championships in Doha.

The 22-year-old was beaten by European Games bantamweight champion Bakhtovar Nazirov on the judges' decision despite appearing to land the cleaner shots.

After both judges scored the -56kg fight as a draw, they were forced to pick a winner - and chose the Russian.

Britain's Harvey Horn progressed in the -49kg weight class and Pat McCormack in the -64kg division.

Horn, 20, beat India's Devendro Laishram, while McCormack, 20, overcame Moldova's Dmitri Galagot.
