Ganiel taking Games in her stride

Marathon runner Gladys Ganiel talks about representing Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The USA-born athlete is now an Irish citizen and achieved the qualifying time by completing last September's Berlin Marathon in two hours, 39 minutes and 26 seconds.

Away from running, 37-year-old Ganiel lectures in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation at Trinity College Dublin's School of Ecumenics in Belfast.

In the video, Ganiel is pictured with training partner Marty Rea.
