Hampshire boss Giles White upbeat despite poor start

Hampshire boss Giles White says he is upbeat despite his side's winless run of five County Championship games.

Hampshire sit second from bottom in Division One having not won a match this season.

"There are plenty of positives to take out of our games of late," White told BBC Radio Solent.

"The individuals are playing well at different times, but it's now about putting it together at the same time in the same game."

Hampshire suffered their fourth successive defeat of the CB40 on Sunday when they were beaten by 36 runs at Surrey.

White's side returns to Championship action on Tuesday against Lancashire before their FP t20 campaign gets underway on 1 June, and the Hampshire boss is hopeful his squad can rediscover their form.

"We're getting stronger in terms of personnel so hopefully we can take some form into t20," he said.

"We played some of the tougher sides in the CB40 and only managed one win but we played some decent cricket and we'll take positives from that and take it into the t20 competition."
