Hawtin aims to lead Oxfordshire to a first Minor Counties title in 22 years

Oxfordshire captain Ian Hawtin is confident his side can secure their first win of the Minor Counties Championship season this weekend.

Oxon drew their first match of their 2011 campaign with Wiltshire and host Devon at Great Tew between 26-28 June.

"Devon are a strong side but we've beaten them before, so we're confident for this game," he told BBC Oxford.

"We didn't bat that well against Wiltshire but we'll put that behind us and be positive for this game."

Oxon beat Devon by 74 runs last season but Hawtin, 44, says his squad will not underestimate the South West side.

"Their captain Neil Hancock is a good player and ex-Gloucestershire batsman, Bobby Dawson is always dangerous," he said.

"They always seem to have good seamers, they are just generally a strong side, cricket is quite strong down in Devon."
