Werrington are knocked out of the ECB Club Championship

Werrington's ECB National Club Championship campaign ended with a 27-run defeat at home to Bridgewater.

The Cornish side lost the toss and saw their Somerset-based opponents make 221 all out.

In reply Werrington could only muster 194 all out, with Ben Smeeth top-scoring with 67.

Callington stay top of the Cornwall Premier League after beating Newquay by seven wickets while Paul are second after thrashing Falmouth by 105 runs.

Third-placed St Just are level on points with Paul after David Roberts smashed 124 off 127 balls as the west Cornwall side beat Troon by 104 runs. St Just declared on 308 for 2 off 47 overs. In reply Troon were 204 all out.

Truro remain fourth after a six wicket win at mid-table St Austell, while Werrington warmed up for the National Championship loss with a draw at Grampound Road.
