Surrey too strong for winless Middlesex
|Friends Life t20, Lord's (1815 BST)|
|Surrey 182-3 beat Middlesex 173-8 by nine runs|
Half-centuries by openers Jason Roy and Steve Davies were the foundation for a Surrey total that proved too tough for Middlesex in the t20 match at Lord's.
Roy hit 52 and Davies 51 off just 26 balls as Surrey raced to 182-3 from their 20 overs.
Neil Dexter then hit 49 for winless Middlesex before being stumped by Davies off Chris Schofield.
Left-arm seamer Dirk Nannes took 5-40 as Middlesex fought hard before closing on 173-8, a nine run defeat.
It was Nannes' maiden five wicket haul in the competition, and the victory - gained in front of a crowd around 16,000 - moves Surrey up to fourth in the South Group.
