Rain washes out play at Rose Bowl
LV= County Championship Division One, The Rose Bowl
Hampshire v Nottinghamshire
No play on day one - rain
No play was possible on the opening day of the Division One match between Hampshire and Nottinghamshire at the Rose Bowl because of rain.
Steady rain began just after 1100 BST and umpires Nigel Llong and John Steele made numerous trips to the middle to inspect.
But after a final inspection at 1700 BST persistent drizzle forced them to abandon play for the day.
Hampshire are bottom and winless, while champions Notts are currently sixth.
Both sides have announced their teams, with the hosts including Chris Wood and David Griffiths in place of captain Dominic Cork - absent because of an illness in his family - and seamer Kabir Ali.
Notts have brought in pacemen Darren Pattinson and Charlie Shreck, and spinner Graeme White, while Stuart Broad could figure if he is left out of England's XI for the first Test against India at Lord's.
