Glamorgan had their second CB40 game in four days washed out as the weather intervened in their game at Essex.

Opener Gareth Rees had put the Dragons in a strong position with a fine 101 as Glamorgan reached 251-8 off 38 overs.

Falling rain saw the interval break taken early, but Essex were at last able to start their reply having been set 133 to win from 15 overs.

Simon Jones removed Adam Wheater and Graham Napier to leave Essex on 53-2 after 6.2 overs before rain returned.

Essex are second in Group C behind Somerset, while Glamorgan are fourth after their no-result last Sunday against bottom side the Unicorns.
