CLOSE OF PLAY SUMMARY
BBC London 94.9's Kevin Hand:
"After a difficult start, Jamie Dalrymple looked back to his best by the end of his outstanding innings.
"The former Glamorgan skipper took the attack to Surrey, as he batted with the tail to bring up his century and help Middlesex to a third batting point.
"Surrey had their visitors in trouble at times and, having removed Chris Rogers just after the Australian brought up his half-century, they would have expected to dismiss Middlesex for a lot less."
