Leicestershire wicketkeeper Paul Nixon has joined the club's coaching staff, BBC Radio Leicester understands.

Nixon, who announced his plans to retire earlier this month, is to take up a role as a batting coach until the end of the season.

The former England one-day international had his career extended because of their FL t20 success.

Nixon, 40, is scheduled to play on final day on 27 August and will also be available to face India at Grace Road.
