Callington go top of the Cornwall Premier League

Callington are back at the top of the Cornwall Premier League after they beat St Austell by 158 runs while former leaders Truro were beaten.

Truro drop to fourth after losing by six wickets to St Just after being bowled out for just 72.

Nick George had figures for 4-26 while Mark George and Adam Williams each took three wickets.

Dan Davis hit 162no as Callington made 325-3 before bowling out St Austell for 167 as Matt Robins took six wickets.

Werrington are now second, just six points off Callington and six ahead of third-placed St Just, after cruising past all-but relegated Newquay.

Alex Smeeth returned impressive figures of 8-36 as Newquay were bowled out for just 78. Smeeth then hit 55no with the bat as Werrington won by nine wickets.

Elsewhere Paul stay fifth after beating Grampound Road by four wickets and Troon move up to seventh after a one wicket win over Falmouth.
