Alex Cooke gets broken nose as Jersey train in Malaysia
Alex Cooke has suffered a broken nose during Jersey's first training session in preparation of their ICC World Cricket League tournament in Malaysia.
Cooke's injury, which is similar to one suffered by team-mate Paul Connolly during the inter-insular, happened when he misjudged a high catch.
But Jersey Cricket Board chief executive Chris Minty says Cooke will not be out of action because of it.
"All is well following excellent treatment at a local clinic," he said.
The island team went through nearly four hours of drills and training as they prepared for the humid Malaysian weather in the World Cricket League Division Six tournament.
They will face Guernsey in their opening fixture on Sunday, 17 September.
They are scheduled to play their opening warm-up fixture against Malaysian Armed Forces on Tuesday and then take on a visiting Pakistani team club side in a Twenty20 fixture on Wednesday.
