Guernsey's ICC World Cricket League Division Six match with Nigeria has been abandoned due to rain.

The island side had been in a strong position after Nigeria won the toss and went into bat.

Guernsey reduced Nigeria, who are bottom of the table, to 163-7 off 47 overs as Lee Savident took three wickets for 10 runs.

Had Guernsey won the match they would have won promotion to World Cricket League Division Five.

It is not yet known whether the game will be replayed as Nigeria's rescheduled match with Jersey will take place on Thursday, the last reserve day in the tournament schedule.

The tournament's technical committee could award a point each to Guernsey and Nigeria, and the game not be replayed, or order the game replayed on Saturday rather than play the finals.

Guernsey have won all three of their matches so far defeating Jersey,Fiji and Kuwait.
