Gloucestershire and Yorkshire washed out at Bristol

County Championship Division Two, Bristol, day one (close):
Gloucestershire v Yorkshire - no play possible due to rain
Match scorecard

Gloucestershire's bad luck with the weather continued as play was abandoned on the opening day against Yorkshire.

Umpires Richard Kettleborough and Martin Bodenham inspected at 1430 BST, but it was only a formality with the outfield saturated by rain.

Their decision meant that all five days of Championship cricket at Bristol so far this season have been washed out.

If any play is possible on the three remaining days, Yorkshire will include Adam Lyth and Gerard Brophy.

The pair are set to replace Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow, who are in the England Lions squad to play West Indies at Northampton.
