Lancashire last pair Simon Kerrigan and Kyle Hogg earned an extra bonus point on a rain-hit day at Trent Bridge.
After rain for much of the day, they made a start after tea, Nottinghamshire sending down a further 12.5 overs before the weather intervened again.
Aided by an injury to Notts pace bowler Andre Adams, the Lancashire pair added 49 more runs to their overnight total of 272-9 to close on 321-9.
That extended their stand to 70, to earn Lancashire's third batting point.

BBC Radio Nottingham's Dave Bracegirdle:
"A long and frustrating wait for play and then you wish there hadn't been any.
"A day after collecting the 600th wicket of his career, Andre Adams left the ground in pain after going over on his ankle as he ran in to bowl.
"The injury overshadowed an astonishingly free-scoring passage of play for Lancashire's last pair."
BBC Radio Lancashire's Scott Read:
"A sterling effort from Kyle Hogg and Simon Kerrigan to go out and bat as they did in horrible conditions, under gloomy skies and strong winds.
"Having to sit and be patient for the majority of the day, to then come out and bat with the wind blowing and under floodlights was a fine effort.
"A couple of years ago these two sides set up a thrilling finish on the final day of a rain-affected game. I wonder whether they'll be tempted again."
