|Durham 13 pts, Middlesex 9 pts|
Durham were denied a chance of claiming their first Championship win of the season as the final day against Middlesex was wiped out by rain.
Play was abandoned at 13:30 BST, with Middlesex 90-2 after following on and the hosts holding a 148-run lead.
The draw returned Middlesex to the top of the Division One table, five points clear of Yorkshire.
Title holders Durham remained seventh, having lost only once this season, but drawn six times.
BBC Radio Newcastle's Martin Emmerson:
"For the second week in a row, Durham lost the entire final day - and they have now lost about 618 overs of play this season, which amounts to nearly six and a half days.
"That is one of the reasons their hunt for that elusive first win continues, with six draws from seven.
"The umpires abandoned the match, with no prospect of play because of continuous rain, the second year running that the weather has saved Middlesex here."
