Opener Kyle Coetzer's knock of 128 was in vain as Scotland lost to Otago by 67 runs in the final match of their World Cup warm-up tour at Lincoln.

Otago were bowled out for 361 in 48.1 of their allotted 50 overs after Scotland had won the toss.

In reply, Coetzer helped Scotland start well but they struggled to maintain the momentum and were eventually dismissed for 294 with 6.2 overs to spare.

It meant Scotland ended their tour down under with two wins and five defeats.

New Zealand international opener Aaron Redmond top scored for the hosts with 71, while Michael Bracewell (65), Iain Robertson (51) and Derek de Boorder (69) all chipped in.

Having lost partner Matthew Cross (27) after an opening stand of 60, Coetzer carried the game to Otago for the Scots, hitting two sixes and 16 fours in his 121-ball innings.

Richie Berrington (54) helped to steady the ship at 76-3 in a solid partnership of 110 with Coetzer, but fell to leave them 186-4.

However, left-arm spinner Nick Beard (4-54) ran through the lower order as the last six wickets fell for 54 runs, while Coetzer was ninth out as the visitors fell short.
