Glamorgan beat Cardiff MCCU by 47 runs in their final warm-up game before the first-class season.

Acting captain Mark Wallace's 64 and 51 from new recruit Craig Meschede helped Glamorgan to 247 for 6 in their 50 overs.

The county's fast bowler Jack Murphy, 19, claimed 4 for 46 for the students.

In reply Cardiff MCCU reached 200 for 6 with their top score of 57 coming from South African-born left-hander Neil Brand.

Brand has played for Glamorgan and Somerset at second-team level.

Dean Cosker was Glamorgan's most successful bowler with 2 for 30 in his 10 overs, while Dewi Penrhyn-Jones also claimed two wickets.

The two teams meet again in a three-day first-class match starting on 2 April.
