Ashwell Prince and Peter Siddle helped Lancashire press home their advantage over Northants on day three.

Rory Kleinveldt took 5-99 and despite two wickets in the first four overs of the day, Northants were unable to put Lancashire under much pressure.

Prince (153) and Siddle (89) led Lancashire to 436 all out, their highest score against Northants.

The hosts closed on 42-2, trailing by nine runs, after Kyle Jarvis and Siddle had reduced the hosts to 13-2.

Windy Wantage Road
The majority of the day's play took place without any bails in the stumps because of the windy conditions at Wantage Road.

Earlier, Alex Davies (37) and Jordan Clark, who fell for a five-ball duck, were dismissed by Kleinveldt, but a century stand between Prince and Siddle allowed Lancashire to push their total in excess of 400.

Prince fell to a catch at mid-wicket shortly after bringing up his 150, but Siddle was well supported by Tom Bailey (34) and Simon Kerrigan (21) at the end of the innings.

Beginning their second innings with a deficit of 51, Northants lost the services of opener Richard Levi after he sustained a finger injury

Stephen Peters (18 not out) survived until the close after Alex Wakley and Rob Newton fell cheaply.
