Leicestershire had to settle for a draw with Northants as rain denied them a likely third victory of the season.
With Steven Crook unable to bat because of an ankle injury, Leicestershire took only two balls to find the wicket they needed, as Northants were 162 all out.
Ben Sanderson was trapped leg before to Clint McKay (3-35) to leave Richard Levi unbeaten on 54.
Needing 116 to win, Leicestershire were 30-1 when the rain arrived and play was abandoned at 16:00 BST.
Northants take 11 points from the game, while Leicestershire claim 12 points.
BBC Radio Northampton's Alex Winter:
"This was pretty cruel on Leicestershire with rain ruining their pursuit of back-to-back County Championship wins for the first time since 2010.
"Only 45 minutes of play was possible on day four at Wantage Road and Leicestershire were forced to settle for a draw, despite needing just 86 more runs to win.
"Northants now turn their attention to T20 Finals Day on Saturday and have several injury concerns.
"Steven Crook is top of that list. He went for a scan this morning on his right ankle and the club await news of potential ligament or tendon damage.
"If the scan comes back clear, he may yet be able to line up against Warwickshire on Saturday."
