Northern Knights snatch inter-pro victory over North West Warriors
Adam Dennison and Greg Thompson starred for Northern Knights who beat North West Warriors in Sunday's inter-provincial with two balls to spare.
Warriors were 270 all out after 50 overs in Waringstown after Andy McBrine and Ricky-Lee Dougherty's 95-run stand.
The hosts were set an unlikely 235 to win off 42 overs under the Duckworth Lewis method and Thompson's 44 runs off 22 balls turned the game on its head.
Dennison produced an innings of real quality with 73 runs from 100 balls.
Thompson and Dennison added 61 in six overs allowing the Knights to come from well off the pace to get their noses in front.
It looked at one point as though rain would have the final say until Thompson's mid-innings blitz and the Knights held their nerve to secure victory.
The sides meet again on Monday in a three-day game.
