Pedal slip ruins BMX star's hopes

British BMX star Shanaze Reade's hopes of defending her world title evaporate in Copenhagen as her pedals lock up during her semi-final.

The 22-year-old is left unable to gain any momentum heading down the all-important start ramp and is forced to limp home in last place, missing the final.

Reade fell from her bike during the 2008 Olympic final in Beijing, which she had entered as the hot favourite, but bounced back to win the world title for the third time in 2010.
