David Millar must compete at 2012 - Cavendish
- From the section Cycling
World road race champion and 2011 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Mark Cavendish says David Millar, who was banned in 2004 after admitting taking the blood-boosting drug EPO, should be allowed to compete at the 2012 Olympics in London.
Currently the British Olympic Association gives a lifetime ban from Olympic selection to anyone who has served a drugs suspension of six months or longer and Millar does not plan to challenge his ban. But Cavendish says if Team GB want to win the road race in London they need Millar on their team.
The Manxman also says Australia and Germany will be the teams to watch in his event at the Olympics next year.
