Sir Bradley Wiggins will make his return to road racing on Friday for the first time since breaking cycling's hour record in London last month.

He has been confirmed in Team Wiggins' line-up for the Stafford Grand Prix alongside riders from LT-Condor, One Pro Cycling and Madison Genesis.

The race is part of the Staffordshire Cycling Festival and the British Cycling Elite Road Series.

Wiggins, 35, set a new hour record of 54.526km (33.88 miles) on 7 June.

It broke the previous best set by fellow Briton Alex Dowsett in Manchester in May.
