Three-time semi-finalist James Wade was knocked out by Keegan Brown in round one of the PDC World Championship.

Brown, PDC young player of the year in 2014, beat number 11 seed Wade 3-2 to set up a match with Austrian 45-year-old Zoran Lerchbacher.

It is the third time the 25-year-old has reached the last 32, although he is yet to progress beyond that stage.

In Sunday's other ties, Wade's fellow Englishman Ian White - seeded 17 - beat New Zealand's Cody Harris 3-1.

Jamie Lewis beat Dutchman Kenny Neyens in a preliminary match before also defeating fellow Welshman Jonny Clayton, seeded 31st, 3-0 to reach the second round.

English number 15 seed Alan Norris beat Kim Viljanen of Finland 3-0, Australia's Kyle Anderson defeated Peter Jacques of England 3-1, while Dutchman Vincent van der Voort beat Englishman Dave Chisnall 3-0.
