Bury 1-3 Wycombe

Wycombe remain in the driving seat for automatic promotion from League Two thanks to a Ben Strevens brace at already-promoted Bury.

Ryan Lowe put the hosts in front from the penalty spot after Dave Winfield handled his initial effort.

Gareth Ainsworth headed in the equaliser for the Chairboys from a Stewart Lewis cross.

Strevens poked home after Scott Rendell flicked on before sealing the win from close range after a corner.

Bury's defeat means that Chesterfield only need a point next week to secure the League Two title.

Wycombe only need to match Shrewsbury's result to confirm their own promotion to League One.

POST-MATCH REACTION

Bury caretaker manager Richie Barker told BBC Radio Manchester:

"It wasn't our day and fair play to Wycombe they came and made it difficult for us.

"They are a good young bunch of athletic footballers, but I think today was probably a little bit of a step too far for them.

"What we have achieved is excellent and all credit to everyone who has been involved."
