Tranmere manager Les Parry has agreed a new one-year contract with the club after leading the club to League One safety for a second consecutive season.

Parry was promoted from team physio to the role in what was initially a temporary move in October 2009.

After steering the club away from the bottom of the table he was handed a one-year deal in June 2010.

Parry told BBC Radio Merseyside: "I'm absolutely delighted, it's good to get things sorted so quickly."

He added: "It means I've been able to get on with business for next year and start to look at bringing people in.

"We're looking to reach the play-offs next year, if we get a good start I think we're capable of that."
